In general I agree. In not going to vape in a grocery store or coffee shop because you cannot smoke there and it is rude. But in my hotel room there is no one else, it foes not leave a damaging smell, does not discolor walls....you know? I was careful to be sure I wasn't setting off the fire alarm, I wasn't subjecting anyone to my vapor, I wasn't making the vape community look like a bunch of dbags....to me it was about equivalent to lighting a scented candle.

I've vaped in non smoking hotel rooms with no issue. I do however always keep the do not disturb sign on the door so the maid won't knock and walk in while I am vaping. I primarily use fruit flavors and have never found any scent that lingers much at all. For the little bit of scent a maid might think it was just someone's body lotion because body lotion scents do linger.

My sister is a non smoker (always) and when we shared a room in Vegas and I vaped in the room she said she couldn't smell much of anything. She's also happy that I'm vaping because she understands the science and is happy I quit smoking.

I am a little confused. Do you mean if we could vape everywhere they will
not ban vaping? Or do you mean if we do not vape anywhere they will not
ban it everywhere? It seems to me every ban I have heard of had nothing to
do with rude vapers just that we are vapers and should be banned.
These bans are not about health. They are to keep the general public from
interacting normally with us and making up their own minds. They say it's
about re-normalizing smoking. what they really mean is allowing to general
public to see how actually harmless vaping is to them.

Maybe if people could follow simple rules there would be no need for laws banning vaping

Yeah.... that ought to work out well.

Come now, little sheeple... we will all obey the rules and be grass fed.

How about instead of childishly judging other people on an Internet forum we get off our lazy tuffs and fight for what we believe in?

What are the chances that's a better discourse with a better outcome?

I think it is all a matter of respect. Blowing massive clouds in a packed restaurant is disrespectful, in my opinion. Having a quiet vape in a no smoking room of a hotel is perfectly fine.

I dont think it is as simple as 'if it's not against the law, it's ok'. I also happen to think that just because it IS against the law, it doesn't mean it's NOT ok. (too many negatives in there, but I hope people understand).

If everyone in the vaping 'community' try to respect non-vapers (many of whom have ideas about vaping that they read in the mainstream media), then there would be much greater support all round.

Being antagonistic is rarely helpful in any situation.
