So I just got the Origen Dripper v2 just now in the mail. The thing looks pretty sexy.

Some changes from v1 to v2 are:

  • Shorter in height, smaller chamber
  • HUGE drip united drip well
  • Engravings on the bottom with serial number
  • O-rings are now in the top cap instead of the base
  • New drip tip is very wide bore straight through. Very nice.

I'll have a chance to build on it when I get home from work, but building wise, looks to be the same.

I love my v1, and they fixed the two things that bugged me about it.. it seems like it would hold a lot of liquid, but really doesn't hold as much as one would think, and the O-rings on the base grip way too much.. Can you pull cap off with out it being on a mod, easily?

Also, why can't they make it one finish? Doesn't really bother me, but yeah..kinda:)

I got #62 today and concur with all of alkaiser's observations thus far :)
That said, all I've done is wash it and won't be setting up a coil until tomorrow. One additional observational comparison I can add though is that the walls of the chamber cap are noticeably thinner than those of the V1's. I have 2 V1s to compare with and the walls are definitely thinner and the whole unit is significantly lighter in the hand.

Just checked with my syringe... the V2's juice well holds exactly 1.1ml with no wick.

That's just the empty well, filled with water so that the surface tension of the water is level with the top of the cutouts in the well without actually spilling on top of that flat sheet of cutout steel. Normally, with the V1's, "full" to me would be filling until there were concave depressions in the surface of the liquid in both wells, and for that level of fullness in the V2, it was exactly 1ml.

Before you ask, I never did the same measurement in the V1's... was too excited with them when I got them and just started coiling wicking and vaping. And I always forget after rebuilding... oh screw it, let me see if one is low on juice now and let's see...

Ok, a V1 holds 0.6ml with no wick... same standard - level with the top of the well without going over. So would realistically fill to 0.5. Not a bad gain! Overall, the V2 appears to have double the juice capacity of the V1.

What RDAs have y'all compared these to? I was really lusting for one but rip tripper really bashed it, which he doesn't do a lot. He said the flavor is so so.

honestly, i don't know what rip trippers was thinking when he made that review. if you saw the build he had in his origen, it looked like crap. that one of the worst builds i've ever seen in an rda. he also said it's for vertical coils, but horizontal coils are just as easy.

the good thing about the origen is that it is a reduced chamber dripper with airflow control and a large drip well. the reduced chamber will give a concentrated flavor (similar to how the kayfun works), and the airflow will allow you to adjust. smaller the airholes = more flavor. larger airholes = more clouds. i get more flavor out of my origen than any other atomizer i have (kayfun, omega, patriot, igo-w, nimbus).

but definitely don't order from ultramist, they overprice their stuff to hell. i got mine from vaping craze at a more reasonable price. received mine in 2 days as well.
