Welp I got my drip tip shield cap in.yesterday, not sure if I like it or not. I love the idea and its function, but not the added weight

Got mine today. I hear ya on the added weight. And the finish & color is a bit off & the hole placement is too. I lucked out with my bograt cap's hole being in the same exact location as the stock cap but this shield's hole is in a different spot altogether. Guess I'll have to devote a dedicated tank to it.

Having a bad day with the Orion. Tried for like 2 hrs to get the coil right. No luck. Get it working fine at first put juice in and check again for hot spots, sure enough I have one on top coil. Tried and tried again, same story. Had to give up for the night. Going to try making a new wick, and start all over again. Guess its just one of those days...

Kim, sorry but it happens to everyone at some time. One reason to not try and re-coil/re-wick all your gennis at the same time. :p

I noticed something this spring about oxidizing and it has made my life much easier. All the quenching can make the mesh stiff & brittle. I oxidize the flat sheet to a grey-blue haze ( mere seconds), roll and fit. Works great for me. There has been done chat on the pit that we might be over torching, burning the oxide layer off. YMMV. :)
