V2 button sticks out and will fire in pocket, and if it rolls. 2.1 is fairly recessed for that reason... Hence many file them down to prevent accidental firing. I used an Riva button in a pinch once...

That is exactly what happened too. She literally roasted everything that could melt to a crisp the other night. So I had to take it home (I'm currently maintaining 3 Orion’s, one of which is mine, soon to be 4, and really, mine doesn’t count, cause once I set it up I'm good to go for at least 3 weeks with a few wick cleanings) and clean it up and fix it. It smelled like rotting bodies.

So I filed it lower than the button for the v2.1, however it still works and with little effort. Its clean looking, I wet sanded it after filing it, but I would just rather put a nice clean v2.1 button in there.

hello helpful orion owners :)

just got a hold of a 2.1, after reading issues with the switch and juice seeping thru the well, I'm now scared of using it. Can you guys give me some tips. Sorry if I come up lazy, just don't have the time to read thru all the threads.

Thank you very much

Don't be scared. The likeliness of it leaking IMHO is very slim. Just use it man! IF, and I mean, IF, by some chance that does happen, you can get a switch for 20 bucks.

#522 on the list for the v3 lol

#118! :)

Yeah, I'd go ahead and use it. I always keep the top cap and plate dry in between filling to minimize condensation. You could always order a spare switch from 'pailpoe' by PM'ing him on Vapor Wall. In the event you'd need to replace it, you can shoot silicone in the void space under the insulator, but here's hoping you won't have to.

And yes, happy b-day 'emonty'!

Ok, I finally tried a twisted coil on my orion V2.1. I did a 4/5 wrap and ended up with 1.5 ohms. I have to say. Holy crap! Flavor is intense as hell, and the clouds, steam engine! Think I found my new set up but might have to wrap it one more time. Thing is a beast!

Twisted coil is def a beast . What awg wire are you using? I'm enjoying a 4/3 wrap of 30 awg at the moment .

The first time I twisted a coil, the most impressive changes (to me) were the roundness & depth of the flavor increased and the vapor felt much richer. Currently running 0.17mm twisted @ 1.3ohm.

I do find the twists get gunned up a bit quicker. No problem to pull the wick and dry burn every couple of days.
