i feel like my $12 vivi novas with ego batteries are producing way more vapor with less effort than the orion...by less effort i mean on the vivi novas i can get loads of vapor by doing a 2-3 second pull whereas on the orion i have to pull till im almost out of breath just to get the same vapor. what am i doing wrong? im using 400 SS mesh with 4 wraps of 32g kanthal...im watching these videos online with guys with pretty much the same set up blowing clouds of vapor...also using 5050 pgvg

With a Gen atty, the airhole location is the most important factor when talking about vapor production. You can build up the neg post w/ M2 screws/nuts to get the coil closer to the airhole, or get a replica cap w/ the airhole lower.

Or wet sand your tank down a mm or two until you get your airhole lined back up with the wick. The shorter the tank the lower the cap screws down, thus lowering your airhole. This is what I did for my stock cap. i went from 21mm roughly to 19mm roughly. Lowering my airhole 2mm, which is quite significant.

However, even when my airhole was high I was still able to produce great vapor, with 28 kanthal.

Oh yeah, make sure your airhole is lined up with your wick :)

My Orion came with third o ring that i slapped on above the tank on the last threads of where the top cap goes. the air hole perfectly lines up with the wick...

Just have to make sure, since no one asked yet.

Then please see my previous post on page 344 at the bottom.

And if I may, what Turbo was getting as where the air hole is VERTICALLY on the wick. Right now, a stock orion, the airhole it very high on the wick, missing most of the coil. If you lower the cap by sanding the tank or if you build the negative post up with nuts then more of your coil will be in the flow of air from the hole.

Then I'd go to Ace or the like and get (2) M2 (2mm) nuts/bolts and raise the negative connection or sand the tank down. The M2 option is easy to do and is reversible. I've not done this as I'm happy w/ stock vapor, but if I wanted more this is what I'd do.

You are using 32....and 4 wraps that's nearly 3.7-4 ohms I think.

Please get some 28 kanthal and do a 6/7 wrap for a 1.2ohm coil. 5/6 of 30 kanthal will suffice as well.

It's actually closer to 2 ohms depending on the thickness of the wick.

With that said I still think 2ohm on a mech mod is still to high and I agree with you on the 28g. Don't know how you're managing 1.2ohm with a 6/7 wrap. Personally I like a 4/3 wrap which meters out at .8-1ohm. Until he gets 28g he could twist the 32g which comes out to about the same ohms/meter as 28g.

Should I do 2 wraps on my 32g?

Yeah if ya wanna blow out the back of ur skull. Lol! Try twisting the 32g and doing 4 wraps. Take a length double what you normally use and double it over and put the 2 ends together. Clamp in the chuck of a drill and put a screwdriver in the loop. Start the drill while holding the screwdriver in place. Keep going till it's really tight. You can also do the same with a pair of needle nose pliers and a screwdriver, except spinning the screwdriver. This should give you a wire that's similar to 28g. World of difference. Trust me! Plus it's harder to pop a coil if you get a hot spot.

Awesome thanks for the great tip and instructions. I did a 3 wrap and wrapped the coils really tight and short at the top of the wick near the top washer. Vape is better than my previously evenly spaced coils with 4 wrap
