And I am the one that let my original go to taz... For a V2.1 + cash on my end. Fairest lady to deal with BTW.
It has the wire electrodes in it vs. the M2 post & screws. I was going to convert it over myself, but because I could wrap a coil and get consistent connections (from lots of practice) I hadn't done that. I paid $90 for that little 16340 work horse, and it was my goto pocket genisis mod. I miss it TBH. I knew it well, how to make it work, all its little idiosyncrasies, and held on to it for a long time (in my book) till, what I felt was a perfect trade.
So I loved it so much, I felt the V2.1 would be even better. In certain respects it is. I went off the deep end and traded taz for my V1, and she sent it straight to me when she got it from Nosmoker, in its original packaging even... and then I turned around and traded my Zen Mini for a V2, because I had it in my head this was my PV (the Zen was just not pocket friendly enough for me). They arrived within days of each other. The V2.1 is definitely refined over the V2 with the top change and the recessed switch, so I made those small changes to my V2.
Well 2 weeks later, my V2.1 switch went south on me. It became intermittent. Now I freaked a little, but PM'd Nosmoker and he was quick to respond. He suggested pulling the switch and soldering the 5 contacts and the outer edge solder run on the PCB that makes contact with the body. I pulled it, and lo and behold, liquid was getting down into the switch from the atty chamber. So instead I cleaned that up and put it back together. It seamed better... but I realized after a day of using it, it was still misfiring. So I went ahead and did as Nosmoker suggested. But no change... then it started getting worse, and now it does not fire at all. I PM'd Pailpoe, and thankfully he is sending me a new switch. I am not sure, but I believe the microswitch is what went on mine. So now I am waiting on the new switch. Props to Nosmoker & Pailpoe for the support btw!!!
In the meantime, I took the switch from my V2 (they are slightly different BTW) and put it in my V2.1. Good to have a spare. V2.1 is back in action. I did add 2 o-rings this time (vs the one that was in there) below the shoulder isolator for the M2 center post though. Pailpoe shows how to add the o-ring in one of his youtube videos. If you are comfortable with disassembly, I would look into this BTW. If you notice ANY liquid on the - side of your batt, you should check this.
I really love these (A)PVs... but got a little lesson in electronic vs. mechanical switches. So with that, if Pailpoe makes his VV switch available for us to purchase, I for one will be buying at least 2!!! I do feel that I could build my own though if it came down to it (I am an electronics/radar guy), I am just a little on the lazy side sometimes

and it would just be a very simple switch. In a pinch, I can replace the M2 center post and use a GGTS bottom tube on it... they fit the threading, just would lose the size advantage
