I have owned 2 Orions now and have lots of practice already! It was just kicking our .... because I was setting it up in front of and for a friend

Yes I do, never fails, but it was fun hanging out, vaping, having a few brews, and playing a little music, all in the comfort of A/C.
He really isn't a noob... well a little bit to genisis, but I prefer the term FNG (coming from my Navy days)
That's because Les' personal method is to twist/braid two lengths into a double-stranded wire to wrap the coil...
A friend got his OrionV2.1 Friday and brought it over yesterday and we went to town setting it up. We were having a heck of a time with shorts at the top coil, but eventually got it cranking. We used the wire provided when I got tired of wasting my kanthal

I dont have the link anymore, but there was alot of info last July and August in Iatty thread using braided coils. I did that myself since there was such a small space to work with. Example - 2 lengths of 3 ohm wire twisted together = 1.5 ohm That was using AWG 36 G
I think I will not tinker anymore...I have my holiday and it works flawless, finally I can vape like it should be!!

There is a ton of info on UKV in his best mod thread & DIY & modifications. Warning... Lots of reading there. I've not had luck with the search engine there. It's worth it if you want to know this device inside & out though.

Ahh, that makes sense. I ran twisted coils in my Katana and ody for a long time, always had good results. How many wraps dies everyone use with twisted coils?
I'm about to put myself back on that list too! I love this thing. In 18350 mode it's just spectacularly small and awesome.
Wow, that's gotta be a pretty hot vape, especially considering how small the airhole is on the stock cap. I'm guessing that meters out to around 0.9-1.3Ω depending on how tightly he winds the strands of 34g together.

Luck would have it I was close to this page. Pics and everything for a twisted coil on Orion. Mind you this was the original with much smaller inlet & mouthpiece. He says 4 here, but in a post in the past couple of months he mentioned 3 coils.
