Lookin good!

I want to try this setup. How long can you lay it on the side like that without it leaking? Looks like you have your wicks non-pinched.

I'd like to also try the twisted kanthal. Anyone have a how to link handy?

I plugged up the unused hole with mesh to make it more horizontal friendly. That's when I noticed that my wick is so thin it dribbles around it. I hate to mess with my current setup since it's tasting so great but if I'm going to, I might as well try the twisted wire out.

i use the orion exclusively on 18350 aka BOSS MODE and tonight I found some 18650s in my drawer so i decided to run this set up LOL.. not a fan of the 18650 mode at all size wise but everything else is good!

These are 5 wraps of 30awg twisted coil on each side. ill probably be on this set up for a day or 2. just wow.

sorry no macro lens..

Thanks! and you should for the sake of trying.

How to as far as what boss? yes i don't pinch it. using 100VG..
orion's flavor is intense enough i really dont have to pinch it
(some agree that pinching the tip enhance flavor)

Okay, where do you line your air hole up too? I would imagine with an air hole on either side of the chamber cap it would work well for me. I've found the twisted coil to pump out just as much vapour as the dual with cap off though. Either way, it's good to have that flexibility. I rarely do find myself vaping anything other than the Orion, it's just the perfect vape for me.

Twisted coil is quite easy. You jut get two pieces of Kanthal and twist them together. You then just treat as you would a regular piece of wire. That's it. :) Nice and easy.

i would disagree but that's me. did u see the vid i posted here of the twisted coil single wick? it's definitely producing more vapor as far as i can tell compared to a non twisted... my airhole is lined up to the main wick (the one i use for the single wick set up) although dual air holes on an ejuice bottle as a top cap (like the one LES posted) sure does produce way more vapor. This dual wick is not my all day set up that's why I have not done any modifications as far as the air hole is concerned. Im normally on a 3 wrap twisted 32awg.

I may need to retry the dual wick, dual coil setup. Your the only person I know of who has had success with it though. :)

I run the twisted at 3.5 turns where my dual was 3.5+4.5. Both were similar with the cap off. I suppose there will always be differences between people dependant on turns, gauge, battery charge, etc..

I rolled up a new 400 mesh wick, twisted some kanthal, and rolled up 3/4 coils. Doing some test burns with pg, I immediately saw a ton more plumage. Like I hooked it up to a car battery instead of an 18650. Tons of flavor and vapor even with short pulls! I love it! I'm going to call my first go with twisted wire a preliminary success.

As for the other reason I rebuilt the atomizer tonight... trying to make the Orion horizontal friendly....

I made my wick fatter so that there's not enough room for juice to sneak out between the wick and the hole. I covered the other hole with a thin wick the I folded in half and slipped both ends into the hole. This way it's easy to remove to fill juice, and it won't fall into the tank. I've been laying the end result on its side with the cap off, a clean piece of paper under it, for about ten minutes now and not a drop.

I've heard people talk about losing flavor or tightening the draw when plugging the other hole but I'm not noticing any of that. I like the stock draw on my Orion 2.1 and it feels the same.

I'm very happy! Thanks to MrAftrMth and kritikal for inspiring me to screw with an already great setup and make it better!

The twisted coil works very well. Curious what gauge kanthal you are using for it. When I do it, I tend to use 34G for it. I have another atomizer that has dual air holes already setup on it, and run it with dual coil/wicks 32G 4 wraps. I take only 1-2 sec hits from it, and the vapor is crazy, though keeping it wet tends to be a problem with VG. For daily vaping , I prefer a single coil/wick, though the twisted setup is nice, and I too can tell the difference.

Be careful running dual coils on an 18350 - pay attention to heat in the batt tube. At least there is not that much of a difference between the 18350/18650 for the discharge rate...

AW IMR 18350 - Max. continuous discharge rate : 8C
AW IMR 18650 (1600/2000mah) - Max. continuous discharge rate : 10C

Safety first. This isn't my on the go set up. i found some 18650 batteries laying around. My mods stay 18350 99% of the time, single twisted coil. These are 5 wraps of twisted 30awg on each side. No problem wicking on mine using 100%VG

yea, I only had that issue with wicking 100% VG with dual coils/wicks on another atomizer... but it did break in and got better. I have no issues with wicking on a single wick setup on the Orion. TBH, haven't tried a dual on the Orion, except for a long while back when I first got it. I run mine 18350 80% of the time here.

I have contacted poilpoe as my switch still doesnt work after cleaning it(blowing it out and spraying "no flash" into the switch. and reassembling it. I have seen others doing the same. Also I am not going to use just any silicone....I have ordered some FDA food safe silicone. Here is the link, for any one who may be cautious of there health;

Silicones : EMI5005 RTV Food Grade Adhesive Silicone Sealant 2.8oz Tube [EMI500530] - $2.89 EMI Supply, Inc

Also here is pailpoe's link to disassembly/reassembly;

I got a pm from pailpoe, and he will send me a new switch...just need to pay shipping!!

Just came back from my vacation, used the V2.1 exclusively without any issues. This unit is the best PV on the market!!!!

Welcome back emonty, hope you had a great holiday!

I have tried many different versions of the genisis setups over the last year or so, and I have come back to the Orion every time since I have had one. I have to agree, so far it is the best of the best. My current efforts have been using a Hellfire, and now just got a Penelope... but I still have my Orion on me at all times :)
