Sounds similar to my setup 'emonty' but I start w/ a 30mm wick, same wraps/wire.

On a side note, I hear of some complaining about the terminals, etc. getting gunked up. Every night I flush the tank out a few times w/ warm water (upside down) and it still looks as clean as the first day I got it. Also keeps my wick and coil relatively clean.

yeahh tried 30 mm but find the flavor less then with 20 mm. everybody vapes different as I mentioned I don't chain vape so the wicking keeps up perfect with my style of vaping and I get maximum flavor and vapor with this setup. Don't have to tilt a lot vape at around 3 or 4 o'clock...

.15 twisted kanthal, 6/5 wrap, 1.4 ohm. Flavor & vapor is better straight away. Just 10 minutes in so it will just get better. Downside is the number of wraps. On certain devices, this could be a problem.

Do you find that with the twisted coil that it takes longer to heat up to full potential than single 32 AWG? I like the idea of the lower resistance of the twisted coils (basically half), but I don't like long ramp up time, basically defeats the purpose of taking shorter draws for me. I found that 30 AWG (.26) gives me a pretty good vape, but it takes almost twice as long to heat up as 32 AWG (.2). I figured if 34 AWG (.15) twisted doesn't take as long to heat up, that might be a better option for me.

Also using the HD battery and thicker wire. The flavor was still good with the bigger intake. After that set up I bored the wick hole, got a hot battery, and went to 30awg. This is my first 30awg coil and the metallic taste is very obvious. As far as the bigger wick hole goes I can change it back with an insert. Will also be picking up two caps when they are ready. So nothing is permanent. Will update in a day or so. I hope the flavor comes back though cause the VP is good.

I agree now that the metallic is gone its better but not like it was. If it was a 10 before now its a 6. Oh well cap me up. Will be leaving one stock and going up just one size on the second. As far as the stock one goes its already 2 sizes up so I might as well drill the mouthpiece out to 11/64. Just need better bits.

emonty - I don't understand how he elevated the + post .....

Hi blue,

He only raised the negative post I think. He started of saying the positive but then corrected himself. At least that is how I understood it. Looks really easy, just have to find the correct SS screw and nuts...

I watched the beginning, and then skipped to the pictures of the actual post.
I see he has 3 nuts on it .... how do you put the new screw in? From the inside/bottom?
I haven't messed with my Orion at all, so I am not sure how that post actually connects.

Blue,

the negative is just a screw, he uses a longer one with 3 nuts, so it is raised and that way you can start your first wrap much higher, make a couple close wraps which will then be perfectly aligned with the airhole
