Thanks for the additional information about the feel of the device. I would also like to point out some limitations of firmware updates that might not be obvious to those who don't have a working knowledge of electronics. While the firmware can address issues and update functions, such as adding dynamic wattage adjustments and changing display items, they can not expand the output limits of the device. The specifications of the device at 5 volts (stated on the website) and 3 amps (calculated from the max wattage specs) is a hardware limitation put in place to keep the device within the safety parameters.

FYI: Based on the stated specifications, you will need to run a 1.7 ohm atty to achieve the 15 watt maximum.

While we have no way of knowing the physical limits of the hardware. It is very likely the 5v limit is set because of the use of Li-Ion protected batteries. Single battery mods that can run over 5v require high drain batteries.

Not a problem for me since I never go much over 4v with the 1.5 ohm RBA's I use.

Your review states, "I use the V1.1 of the MVR software on my PC." but (on-line) I only see V1.0 for the MVR and the same for the firmware. Is this a typo in the review?

It also makes it imperative now for any reviews of the eVic to state which firmware and MVR versions are being reviewed.

Bravo Zulu = Well Done!

I'm sure i've downloaded a v1.1 file from the site of JoyeTech. but now i canot find it on their site. Maybe they renamed it again to "V1.0".
I know for sure it was a v1.1 for two reasons. First, the Germen supplier had the V1.0 and i downloaded this one. But i couldn't install it because the .ZIP file was corrupt. Then i found the v1.1 on Joyetech's site. Downloaded it, installed it, and when i received my eVic it seemed to run also.
Second, i made a pic of the file i've downloaded from their site:
MVR software download v1.1.jpg

So, i'm done with my review of the EGO eVic.

If you're interested you can find it here. Hope you like it.

Thank you very much for posting the review! Too many steps for me I'm afraid. I'm currently sitting here with 3 tanks that have different resistance cartos, a vivi mini nova and a clearo, all with different flavors. I'm switch around every few minutes trying to figure out the flavor & temperature I want. It appears that trying to use an eVic in this scenario would be quite difficult.

Well, you get used to the sequence of setting the Wattage :) It's like that old Rubrick's cube: click, 2 left, 3 right, click, etc.
I can do it with my eyes closed now.

Just out of curiosity, can't it operate like a pass-through? Use while charging? Don't think I saw that mentioned any where on the documentation.

I also dig that JoyeTech/Ovale always includes a long cable. The one that came with my eGo 650 PT is a meter also.

When it's charging on the USB adapter you can vape. When it's connected to the PC it depends on what you choose in the MVR software. If you choose "Charge only"you can vape while charging. If you choose to run the statistics you cannot.

An 18650 pv that I don't have to juggle batteries in and out of charger, this is exactly what i've been seeking. I hope it lasts 6 months, I had a very good experience with my ego-twist from ovale. I will order from them again.

dam.. thanks for the review!!

i had the unit in my cart on ovale but after reading the review.. i think im going to pass on this and get the lavatube 2.0 instead

this seems like way too complicated for what it does and has bugs that need to be worked out.. also a bunch of useless stuff (to me) cluttered in there
