For you, Dragon :) I don't remember if I ever posted a picture of an Ovale v8.

OK! OK! I broke down and ordered a V8, on all of your good words- I did it! My first VV device!
Now, come on... There has got to be a downside at this price ($25 Smoktek) other than the voltage numbers. Anyone?
Too lazy to read through all this!
Someone mentioned the battery door...Tips? Tricks? Cautions?
Thanks!

Carlton, you gonna like it! I love my V8. Have gone through phases with it where I didn't like it. I have two. One bit the dust, but I think James from Krimson Kustoms can fix it like he fixed one of my other mods.

I suggest you put a little WD40 or other oil on the door. It helped a lot. No more door issues. That's about it!

The battery compartment in general. No flattop batteries. Many 18350s are too long. The springs are delicate. It's easy to smush them down when trying to put a battery in. Use the corner of an old credit cart to shove it flat then slip the battery in and remove the credit card.

The connector wiggles. Do not screw cartos/attys in too tightly as you can damage it. And, because the two pieces of plastic meet at the connector, it can be susceptible to having liquid getting into the battery. I'm getting a 510 to 510 adapter that doesn't have a hole in the bottom to protect against that problem. (Good Prophets carries them at a good price.)

There's a reason why they are so inexpensive. I have one that's dead and one that's threatening to follow it. But, when they work they really are great.

Anyone have an extra door for one. I dropped mine and broke the latch on the door.:(

Tex, did you get it from Discout Vapers? Eric sent me an extra door when mine broke, but it was in the first week. I used a rubber band to keep it on in the mean time. Not elegant, but it worked.

Thanks Sandy I will ask him if he has any extras from bad units that have been sent back. Thanks for the rubberband ideal that will work for now. It isn't like it is my only VVPV and I was going to give it to a friend anyways but would like for the door to be on it.:)

Thanks again Sandy! Eric at DV did have extras so he will give me a free one on my next order!

Just ordered 3 new v8 in leather case, one lambo and 5. pieces bully clone repairable attys from my favorite dealer on alibaba. She told me that v8 is on discount (18 usd normal, 21 usd leather case kit) because they are preparing new improved v8, it will be finished soon.
Can't wait for new version ;)

Nice! Maybe I can finally get a pink one for cheap hehe...
Yes, I also got an email from my vendor a few weeks ago (although she said nothing about discounts for the current version). But, I think they said they had them already? I must go and check through my old emails.

Just found this thread today! I LOVE  my Ovale V8! And I would love to learn more about a new version also! Hopefully they've improved the hole around the connector (so potential leaks won't get inside! ), and also the batt door issue. I just use my pocket knife to gently "poke" at the latch, and it pops open (plus Eric @ Discount Vapers sent an extra door that fits better just in case). Easy peasy! :)

I also love Eric as my go-to hardware & batt guy. The cost on his batts are about $1 more than a couple of others, but I order them w/other stuff and save on postage, so I figure it's a wash. Plus w/his service, it's worth it! :D

Since I know someone (Dragonbone) will ask :) , here's a pic of my setup. Nothing fancy, but it's my favorite APV w/my fave clearo (Kanger T2), all from DV and my fave juice (Gooey Better Cake from KBV). :D

Welcome to our Ovale V8 fan club!! So happy to hear that you like your Ovale :). Thanks for the nice pic too!

Is your Ovale the one with the recessed hole? Looks like it. Because if it is, you can have your Kanger fit more flush to your device if you use a 510-eGo connector. Didn't you get one with your kit?
P.S. KBV's GBC is one of my favorite juices!

It looks like the 510-510 connector is built into the device.

I have to say that with Eric of Discount Vapers, if I have ever had a problem with anything, he quickly has resolved it. And he is a heck of a nice guy, and his thread is a place not for chit-chat, but to learn and ask questions.

The one issue I have had with his company is both a positive and a negative, depending on how you look at it. Eric gets all the new stuff in right away (positive for those of use that like to try new stuff). However, sometimes he gets screwgied by the vendors he buys from, and the stuff isn't good. I was not too happy with the fake Vivi Novas he got by mistake, and he did send new ones out to me, but for me, I'd rather pay a few extra bucks and not have to return something. Other than that, Eric is awesome and a pleasure to do business with.

My V8 came with a 510 adaptor that often unscrews WITH anything I have on it, then I have to screw the adaptor back into the V8 again. They soon came out with the V8 that has the built-in adaptor and sits more flush with the top of the mod. Which is one reason I would consider getting a second V8, just for the convenience factor. I'm still hoping for a different color to be available that isn't so, you know, like baby colors, haha. Baby blue and pink just aren't my thing. Hmmm, the white with black buttons does seem cool, though.

The 510 adapter that gets very wide in the center and has threading is the 510-eGo adapter. If you use a tank (or a wide carto), you need that so your tank will clear the device. If you are using a regular width atty/carto, technically you don't need an adapter but using a regular 510-510 or, better yet, a 510-510 with no hole on the bottom will help prevent juice from getting into the battery compartment.

Yes it is one of the early ones w/the recessed connector. I tried using just the included ego adapter (worked great w/Stardusts), but the T2 is just a tad too big for the well, so I had to stick a 510-510 adapter under the ego one. It's fine w/me as I don't care how it looks, just how out works. And boy does it work!! :D

Nice setup!! I havent tried KBV yet, but I love love love Vape a Licious's STL Gooey Butter Cake! My T2 that I have runs really hot on my V8, is anyone else experiencing that? I have another one coming tomorrow with two 3.2 ohm heads (from Eric!) so I am hoping that will play nicer with the V8!
