Just got my V8 and have a day vaping it under my belt. This is my first mod, been using egos beforehand. I started to get an error code of "LO" The instruction book well frankly kinda sucks, could any one verify if that means my batteries need charged?

I don't have a manual, but I just measured two batteries that were pulled out a little while ago with a "LO" indication. Each are 3.36 Volts. I'll say, "Yes," to your question.

Yeah, the manual is kinda of worthless, if not pointless.

99 times out if 100 LO means low batteries. If you got a days use out of the kit batteries you are due for a charge.

Other than that, what do you think of it?

Yep put them on the charger for an hour and not getting the LO now cool now I know what that means.

First thoughts, I went into this purchase cause it was extremely cost effective. $25 for the kit. I wasn't expecting much cause well its barely the price of an ego twist. I wanted an introduction to VV mods and wanted to look at the gripper style not a tube style. That being said it has exceed my expectations, it dose feel a little cheap and I'm afraid I'll break it. I read about the problems with the connector so I put an adapter on to try to lessen the stress on it, it works as well as expected and almost a full day off a charge is good start. Using it left handed at first is kind of weird. Not as weird as switching back to my ego while the batts were charging. I am very happy with my purchase.

Well the "Postman" finally arrived yesterday, late due to his long lunch I imagine. Got my new kit, popped the batteries in and started using my Griffin. Wow is all I can say. This thing hits as hard as my Vmax. I had no problems using the supplied batteries but one set I have didn't want to pop in so easily. I have 3 sets of 18350 batteries, one is the efast type but they are in my Vmax at the moment.
Tried most of my atomiseers and they seem to work just fine. I can't use my Smoktech rbt as it has a tendency to leak for some reason, still looking into that. But so far, I love the V8. It will be my travel one for sure.
Now I just have to save all my nickels and dimes for the AGA Tiamat, that thing looks sweet! And also I need to save up for a Zmax. From what I've read so far, it beats the Provari for sure.
I sure am glad I decided to spring for it.

Yay! More likes but...

Yesterday I was curious, and went to SmokTek to see what colors and kits they still had left. All gone. And this was a place that put up their initial offers in blue, black & white with a "more colors soon!" blurb.

So, some of us really like these things. And no one can seem to buy them - at least not through normal suppler chains - any longer. Care to speculate what that is? I know DiscountVapers pulled them because he had a lot of returns. But is/was the V8 such a dog that everyone dropped selling them? As someone who has two of them - and working - I'm kinda puzzled.

AND HEY SANDY! YOU GOT SOME 'SPLAININ TO DO! Seriously, what happened to your last V8? I don't think you ever came back and told us.

They are fragile. The connector gets loose fairly easily. There is a big opening on either side of the connector making it too easy to get juice in the works. The tab on the battery door breaks off fairly easily. It is hard to get the batteries in -- if they are a zillionth of an inch too long, they don't fit and the wire coil at the negative end is flimsy and liable to bend.

Local vendors are interested in good customer relations so, when people contact them saying it broke in 3 weeks, they give them replacements. They then don't make any profit on that unit but have a satisfied customer who will buy from them again. But, if they have to replace 25% of the units, it isn't worth it to them to carry it. If you buy from Ali Baba, chances are you will not be able to return defective units.

That said, it does vape like a dream. I have the door from my dead, white V8 on the back of my functioning, black one because that one broke. It looks nice.

Hey Rick, Po said it best. They are fragile. The little wires come unsoldered and the connecters start spinning around. But, yes, they pack a hell of a vape. They vape like a dream.

I miss mine. I took one apart and found that the hot glue they used had come off, so I re-glued, re-soldered, but it only worked for awhile. I can't remember what happened to the first one. I tried to fix it but to no avail.

As Sandy and Poeia said, they are fragile. But if you are both lucky and careful, your V8 could last a long time.

Mine is still going strong after 5 months and the two I gifted to my siblings are still working too. I did however give long tiresome lectures on how to CAREFULLY screw in the adaptor and carto/or tank, to never ever fill the carto whilst connected to the unit, to always make sure there is no leaking from the bottom of the carto, to keep the threads of the unit and adaptor clean with rubbing alcohol, to never force the back door open etc. etc. lol.

I still have one new backup, but it's still in it's box. I haven't needed to use it. I must mention though that I have several other ecigs in rotation, so it's not as though I use the Ovale V8 exclusively. But it does get used every day.

Yes, your battery needs charging when the LO sign shows.

By the way, you're not getting any problems with your V8?

well, now i have ovale v8 3rd edition. it has larger and stronger connector. it also no need in 510-ego adapter to use atomizer bigger then 14mm in diametr.
it can show Ohm's and present V at accs. but it's a little bit weaker then version one :)

Can you clarify 'weaker?' Do you mean it has a less sturdy build or perhaps the electrical power doesn't seem as strong?

sorry, i donxt know how say it in english :( looks like 6.0v at newest burn my atomizer like 5.5 on version 1.
left adjyst button now ''-''
right ''+''
both together - show resistance
fire button - will show voltage in process of vaping, so it's not show voltage you set.
photo of connector below, all that i can find from phone:)
tapatolk makes me cry :)
