The Ovale v8 looks perfect to for an on the go vape for the price. I was curious if anyone has ordered one from Vaporbreak.com?

V8 Gripper Starter kit - VaporBreak
They are good company, they have great discount for vamo, when you register you will receive discount code. You can safely order from them, i don't know about shipping time for USA, for my country is 2-3 weeks.
Also you can order did clone, it looks great with ovale, little difficult to setup because of strength of ovale, but when you learn to make setup it will be your primary device/atty combination.

V8 Gripper Starter kit - VaporBreak

I received my V8 from Vaporbreak.com yesterday. The order was placed on the 13th so it took 15 days to get to the East coast of US. I ordered a V8 kit and a Vamo body and total shipping was less than $10. The V8 is an older model or a clone of the older model. It does not have the ohm check or working voltage. The springs for the batteries are on the bottom of the unit. Overall quality of the unit is poor. Personally I would wait for Discount vapor to restock it.
BTW - The Vamo I got with the same order for $26.99 was a steal!!

There are no clones. That is the original model you are describing. I have the same thing and I'm STILL using it daily after many, many months without a single problem.

Yeah...I got a couple of the non-ohm-reading V8s and they are tough little buggers, like Dragon says. I also got a V6 (called a different name) and while the housing seems kinda "cheap"...it's also a tough little bugger and works awesomely. When you get the batteries in there...they all feel like little bricks they are so solid!

BTW...the non-ohm V8s and the MorningStar Ovale V6 are available at Smoke Revolt. As I mentioned in a previous post. SR is a company based in Ohio. Last I checked Ohio is still in the U.S.A.

I live in Ohio, and I can confirm that it is indeed still in the USA. :D

Just an update on my charger situation from RTD Vapor. I merely asked about the safety of the mixed up wiring, and without even answering that Randy said a new charger will be sent to me after confirming a shipping address. Great customer service. He did request that I send the original back to him so that he can get credit for a defective product.

...a great value device!

This is my feeling as well. I took my V8 to the indoor Muse rock concert the other nite. I used it in the leather pouch/lanyard that Discount Vapors sells for it. I had not used a PV in an indoor public event before, and I was a little concerned about whether vaping would be allowed and chose to stealth vape. My worst fear was should security somehow see me and confiscate my setup from me, so I didn't want to bring something expensive with me like my preferred Provari and a pyrex cartotank.

So I brought my V8 with a cheaper polypropylene 3.5ml cartotank, and a couple of Nano clearomizers with different flavors stored in one of the below battery cases attached to my keychain. It worked out great.

Bad...I got one of those lanyards, too! Nice aren't they? I have hopes I can use it when hubby and I have to go to Mayo Clinic or our local hospital (something we end up doing a lot due to him being really sick). Haven't had a chance to really use it "out and about" yet...but will soon, I'm sure!

I also bought a pile of velvet bags...the larger sized ones used for dice and jewelry. Got a good deal at Amazon on 10 of them and we keep our little VVGs and V8s , the 3.7 Gripper, and the V6 safely tucked in their own little plush containers!

Any one know where can I purchase a Segelei/Ovale V8 VV starter kit which also has an ohm and voltage check? I've been enjoying my Smoktech VV Gripper for the past 4 months but the battery door is poorly designed (planned obsolescence) and now needs a rubber band to keep it properly shut...

Cheers!
No one seems to be selling them at the moment. Hopefully someone will carry them again now that the Chinese new year is over. I'd keep an eye on Discount Vapors and possibly even email them to see if they plan of getting more in stock soon.

One of my VV Gripper's doors is like that. Try a small piece of electrical tape. Just enough to cover the flap a bit...you can peel it off and on many times to change your batteries, and if your VVG is black, and your tape is black..it blends in so well you can hardly see it! Easy peasy to just replace the bit of tape when it gets gnarly or doesn't stick good. That is what I do. My newer silver VVG has a better door. So far.

So far...no Ovale V8 kits available here in the U.S. other than the non-ohm ones at SR. At least nothing I can find. Too bad you missed the AVT sale. It was a great one! Eric MAY carry the new V8s again, but I doubt he'll carry the kit unless people start pestering him to do so. He did mention he might look into getting more colors...IF he restocks the V8.

Thanks for the electrical tape tip! My VV Gripper is black so I'm giving the black electrical tape a try; sure beats using a rubber band. I was thinking Velcro but that would be bulky and unattractive and I thought about using a tiny screw but the seam and the thin plastic made that a poor option.

The only place I can find right now to get a kit is a China site, and they are really short on details so there is no way to tell if it's the ohm checker version: V8 ovale mod - VaporBreak

It's slow boat from China shipping - expect 4 weeks. (But their shipping is only $4.00) The listed price on the site is $30.99 but from what ECFer's say once you create an account at Vapor Break and log in the pricing drops dramatically on stuff.

A sideways related question:

Ok, everyone got a goodie in their V8 kit. Some of us got a small carto tank, some of use got "other" - some sort of 1.6 ml clearo.

Can anyone classify that clearo for me? That's the first clearo I've run across (Just hadn't used tried them.) so I don't know if it's considered a CE2, CE3... whatever.

I take it the atty in that thing isn't replaceable. Or really cleanable for that matter.

I'm pretty sure when I got my kit around June of 2012 from Smoktek it had a CE2 and like others of that type I couldn't get it to work without the burnt taste and threw it out. I really like my v8 though.

The best I could track it down was that it is a CE2 tank carto. I loved mine, and I plan on trying
some more. I don't know why some people are getting dry hits and other people aren't. Maybe
they are like the CE3s and very 'hit and miss'.
