It's been just over four months now since I bought my first e-cig. Aside from one ... at the pub during the first week I've had no desire to smoke at all. The e-cigs have been all I've needed or indeed wanted to use. Tonight on the way home from work however I was overcome with a really powerful urge to have a cigarette. It came out of nowhere and was like a wave washing over me. It really surprised me and I have no idea what triggered it, I was on the train so it wasn't as if I had people smoking around me. I didn't buy any cigarettes and I beat the craving into submission with some 36mg liquid I had knocking around but I was quite taken aback by the ferocity of it.

I know there are many others on here who haven't had a ... for months now. I was wondering have any of you experienced this kind of thing months down the line as well?

I am afraid to post this in case I am wrong... but almost every post I read on here says the same thing I notice... Analogs taste awful after a few days of vaping instead. I don't fight it when I have the urge... I keep them around and I just light one. That first puff is enough to go near a week without wanting one again. I suppose for some people that may not be the case though... so I won't suggest anyone else try it.. just avoid them if you can!

I haven't been vaping for long but I do get an urge to smoke once in awhile.

But...

Every time I have an analog... it just taste like poop..lol

I think I'm just so used to the sweet flavors or e-juice.

I even find the smell of second hand smoke annoying now... I feel like such a hypocrite.

"Get the hell away from me with that cigarette, it stinks!"

Yep, it's definitely not the end of the world if I have one and I know they'll taste like crap if I do. It would just be a shame if I did after this length of time. On a personal level I'd feel like I'd cheated myself a bit.

The thing that did my head in the most was the strength of the craving, it wasn't like I hadn't had any nicotine recently. I really love the taste of the e-liquid as well. Something definitely seems to be firmly wired into my brain about cigarettes.

In the almost two months that I have been vaping I have had the odd tobacco cigarette and although I agree they do taste bad now, I have still sort of really enjoyed having one but I think that pleasure I feel is in the fact that when I am smoking it ...I know that I can now live without it as long as I have the option of vaping.

As you may or may not know I have been vaping since around June time and the other day I had the same thing happen to me! I had the strange desire for a cigarette, it was actually the taste of a cigar I was after!! Luckily I got to the penstyle just in time and after the first vape everything was good in the world hehe!

It can sneak up on you when you least expect it so always carry a backup!!

My brother asked me if I would like a cigar at new years, thinking back I probably would have enjoyed it as a treat. I turned it down or was too tired to smoke it however!! I guess now and again the taste of a cigar wouldn't hurt since there is no inhaling to do but as for cigarette, no way!! Having said that I probably will find the cigar a bit too much for me hehe

I quit smoking for two years a while ago and when I got a craving I thought that one cigar wouldn't do any harm and it was better than buying a lot of tobacco. Of course one cigar led to more ... it was a slippery slope, pretty soon I was smoking tobacco again full time. I don't think it necessarily works like that with vaping though, maybe one occasionally wouldn't be a problem.

I've had a similar experience in the past as well. I know non-smokers who have the odd cigar and get away with it but I doubt I could.

When I once managed to give up smoking for a year....it was a pack of cigars I was given at xmas that I had sitting in my house that started me smoking again....... one led to another ....until the pack was gone.......and that was it I was hooked on smoking again even more than before..........I sure couldn't give it up again not even for a full day .....until these miracle e-cigs came along.

I officially quit smoking on Christmas day, but I've had 4-5 analogs since then. Every time previous when I had quit smoking one analog was enough to get me going again. I have found that not to be the case with the e-cig. I can have one and then totally forget about them for a couple of weeks.

I'm not sure why I still occasionally crave an analog, but I do.

I know the feeling. When I first got my mini fogger I was analog free for a week. I read a few posts on here regarding analogs tasting like crap once you have been vaping, so I decided to give it a shot (knowing in the back of my head it was a mistake).

So I smoked an analog, well about 1/3 of an analog. I was at work, and one problem I have is I don't want to really draw attention to my e-cig, so smoking analogs is a lot easier. Not to mention they aren't allowed to be smoked in my building (I am military, and it would have to go up a long ways to get approval, and thats just not going to happen).

Anyways, it tasted like crap, and I put it out.

No big loss. The problem came a few days later, when I had a few drinks with friends. I gave into my analog addiction and have been back to about a pack a day since. Its really sucky, I wish I wouldnt have ever tried that analog again. It seems some of the mystique about e-smoking has worn off, and I just find analogs more satisfying. I still want to quit, but its proven to be tough.

I ordered a Dura a couple days ago, I am really hoping that refuels my will to quit, and I can put these analogs away for good. Vaping and alcohol don't go together as analogs and alcohol. The other problem is when I do occasionally go out to a bar, I feel a bit embarassed to whip out my mini fogger. I guess its my fault really.
