Hi everyone, this is my first post here, even though I've been reading
for a long time. I really love the site, and I have a question I hope
someone can answer for me.

I know from reading here that most here don't care for Aeros tubes. I
do use them all the time, along with snus, and an analog a couple times
a day. I've used three different e-cigs so far, and have not had good luck
with them.

My question is if the PACT act passes, will I still be able to order the Aeros
tubes? They are considered a smokeless tobacco product, and the only option
is online. I did not like them at first, however they've grown on me over the
last six months, and them along with snus have cut me from a two pack a day
smoker. They are very convenient in bars and restaurants and if I didn't have
them I would probably go back to analogs.

I've read a lot of great advice everyone here, Tropical Bob, you've been a wealth
of knowledge to me. Thanks for being patient with me on my first rambling
post ;-) (I hope I did it right)

Tom-E......Welcome to the "Other" part of the ECF!! I would imagine that Aeros tubes would fall under the same guidelines as an e-cigarette being it is NOT a tobacco product but a nicotine delevery system. These are widely unknown to most so they could in-fact slip under the radar.Being you have used this product and I have not I do have a question or two.First: Does this product mimic cigarettes with a similar "Throat-Hit"? Second: How long does 1 tube last you? I have heard that they basicly re-charge some way when not in use! Just curious as these are seldom discussed over here! Thanks for posting!!:)The Wiz!

Hi All, I bet some of you already saw this at snuffhouse.org and snuson.com where they're having conversations over a NY Times articles yesterday. But, for those who didn't see it:

Senecas See Comeback Over Sale of Cigarettes - NYTimes.com

It does sound encouraging that it might go nowhere, at least, for the time being.

WDYT?

Darn (Actually I have another word I'd rather say)!! Reading over on snuffhouse.org that the Pact Act passed the Senate on March 11th.

I know, back to the House, then signed...could be what 60-90 days? Jeeze, I sure was hoping it got stalled longer than this.

I'm surprised, last thing I read was the Native Americans had it stalled...now I wonder what's going on. Off to find more info. or hope I do.

Well, I did find a bit more - don't you love not knowing what the amendment is that was added, but apparently it didn't help the Native Americans

Indianz.Com > News > Lance Morgan: PACT Act a hidden power grab for states

Ahh, do you think it helped smokeless tobacco that's in it or included cigars that were
exempt? Not in a happy mood, as you can tell :D And I'm sure more will unfold in a few days.

Maybe I need to go shopping and stock up and feel better :)

I'm disgusted by this kind of legislation. Honestly, I am, it makes me physically uncomfortable.

a) There WAS no cigarette trafficking per se. If there's taxes to be paid, we'll pay them on the mail-order stuff.
b) the whole child issue is nonsense, of course, no children were ever ordering tobacco online to any sizeable degree
c) what about people with disabilities who rely on mail-order stuff, eh?

This, like many laws, is there purely to .... over certain businesses and generally piss off tobacco users while at the same time pleasing the anti-tobacco nazis. Oh, and pulling the wool over our eyes to better hide the fact that crack dealers roam the streets selling to our kids and our soldiers are dying in Afghanistan so that some .......s can finally build their pipeline.

Sorry for ranting, btw.

Mordred, Thanks for ranting with me.:D I really had to quit qoogling and finding article after article praising the Senate for stopping the trafficking and loss of taxes that the states need.:grr:

You're so right about the disable buying on the internet - I heard such a story where a person believed that was the only way she could obtain her cigarettes, since she was unable to get out and didn't have anyone to get them for her.

For me, in the Smokeless tobacco, there's not a local store I could even find what I use:( and we don't know where they'll end up classifying e-liquid down the line, which I, also, use.:(

It seems pretty clear to me. If you can't sell tobacco products over the internet e cigs will not be permitted to be sold over the internet and mailed. That of course would only be true if SE and Njoy win their lawsuit. If they lose, then the FDA will close them down immediately until someone comes forward and gets them approved as a medical device and an NRT product. That will lead to a prescription only, expensive product brought to you by Big Pharma. That is where the Duke U. tested product will come into play.

I'm starting to see why the states are banning the sale of e cigs statewide. If you can't buy them on line and can't sell them locally, they can get us back smoking. The State is happy, The Feds are happy, BT and BP are happy, and those Pharma supported non-profit, lobbyists called health advocates are happy.

In my humble opinion, our best chance is that snuff and snus starts to be carried locally so we can go in and buy it. Then buy 0 Nic PVs to address the hand to mouth habit. The good part of that would be the fact that you might be able to get the no vaping in public places off the books. The bad- I think they'll make it difficult to get snuff or snus that isn't supplied to you by, you guessed it, Big Tobacco.

Sounds like a plan.

The Feds would much rather we smoke ourselves to death. It's cheaper in the long run. Sure, there are health care costs due to smoking. But if we die younger from smoking, MUCH money is saved in health care costs from missing an old age, not to mention social security benefits that won't be paid out for those who die an early death. It's MUCH cheaper for the taxpayers if we all would just smoke ourselves to death.

We all know the Feds do not EVER want to see us quit smoking. Do you seriously think they would give up the BILLIONS they rake in every year on cigarette taxes? So they will ban tobacco sales by mail, ban e-cigs eventually, and hope we all go back to smoking ourselves to death.

We should also note the PACT vote was UNANIMOUS. That means not so much as ONE Republican voted AGAINST the bill, nor said so much as one word about 'free market' principles or capitalism. So if there are ANY here left who believe Republican lies about 'limited government' or 'free markets,' your eyes should be opened up quite a bit by the PACT vote.

It will not go into effect until 90 days after.

So one tricksy work around is this.

I see a tin of snus/snuff that I like I purchase the "collector" can of said offering of stuff and get the goodies inside as a suprise!!
Dred.....I think most of the "Serious" snuffers here more than likely have a lifetime supply by now....I myself plan on loading up on my favorite menthols within the next 90!!
