Parliament Passes Harsh Nicotine Laws

04/01/2011

Canadian parliament today just passed new laws that change unregulated, non-prescription nicotine from a schedule 5 drug to a schedule 1 drug. This means that if you are found in possession of nicotine that isn't regulated (cigarettes, chewing tobacco, etc.) or prescribed (patch, inhaler, etc) you will now be subject to the same laws that apply to street drugs such as ....... and .......

I kept trying to figure out how they passed that law when Parliament was dissolved. then it dawned on me that it was April fools day.

Changing the status didn't even faze me. That's the scary part.
