Yeah it's offensive when the thread is insinuating handing out addresses freely over the internet like pamphlets at a free clinic.

It was not a random act of kindness by a stranger. It was premeditated. I'm stating facts. Had the thread said something about how awesome people are on here and how they are kind and friendly I would be fine. Because most you guys are awesome and friendly.

I just can never condone the notion of thinking that giving out addresses over the internet to "strangers" is a good thing no matter the circumstance.

Prototype....

I hope you never purchase something off the classifieds here if you are this paranoid, and am deeply sorry that you are this way. You must lead a lonely life with this much distrust in you.

The two gentlemen in question here - Tone and BiteMe52, have become close friends with me and with others, and this was simply a way for one friend to thank the other for his generousity.

While we DO get the gist of what you are saying - that there are plenty of predators on the internet who would, indeed, send you something for free simply to get a physical address, this is NOT the case here.

Please accept this thread in the spirit it was offered.

Proto....you strike me as a very unhappy and untrusting fellow....while I respect your own personal opinion...I happen to know these two individuals quite well...and you can just take my word for it that it WAS an act of kindness....and as far as awesome and friendly go...these guys have you outclassed in those departmants!!:)The Wiz!

Don't let that out Wiz. I've worked hard for my reputation.

No kidding Wiz.. TDM travels up and down I-10 and knows where I live...

Seriously, I "know" (as well as any of us can) pretty much everyone on this thread and I think this has blown all out of proportion...

Tone! Great Story! It made me very happy to know that there are such great people out there.
My best friend started a group of old friends to get together and raise money for the schools in our old neighborhood in Tampa. They are in dire need of help, we raise quite a lot for them and have fun too. Her motto is pay it forward! I paid it by getting her started on e-cigs.
Thank you for telling your story!

Wow, Prototype, you must look for the bad in everything! Do you honestly think that serial killers et al hang out on ecig forums looking for smokefree victims? If you don't want to give out your address that's your perogative. By the very nature of this forum, we're all adults who can make our own judgements.

A great story? No, the selfless gift is very much a reality. It's changed one person's viewpoint with a single act of kindness.

I live in the UK and was struck by the simplicity of the idea put forward in the film some years ago and try to act on it whenever I can. I live in a tough neighbourhood too and can understand your reticence in accepting that a total stranger can give selflessly.

But trust is not a weakness Prototype. Kindness is not a weakness. I get the impression that if a stranger offered you something you needed or wanted with the only request to you being to "Pay It Forward", you probably wouldn't trust and accept.

So leave us adults to interact with each other without the impending doom advice... and no, we don't believe you're right, though I do know one person who won't be getting anyone's address on this forum (so I guess we can make gut instinct decisions....)

BiteMe and Tone, good to know the concept is alive, well and working. Best wishes from the UK.

Guys....here is the reality of this story....Tone and Biteme are good friends(along with myself). We have all known each other for months here on the ECF.We are all members of the same social group(Emerald City),as well as members of other e-cigarette forums. This was an act of friendship from one friend to another...no strangers involved here.Believe me 5 or 6 months is plenty of time to have a friendship grow. These guys just help one another because they care.....maybe in time those who don't understand what I'm saying now will....The ECF used to be a closer knit community months ago than it seems it is now....The Tone's and BiteMe's are few and far between!!!:)The Wiz!
