Ok, I paid 200? We'll see if I didn't get scammed it should be in the mail tomorrow....... fingers crossed!

I bought a mint original VVG about 6 weeks ago for $200 that included a brass RM2, 4 '350 batts and an extra new bottle and tube. It looked like brand new when it arrived, but it died about 3 weeks later. So I just put it aside until if I ever have enough interest in it again to try to find out why and if it can be fixed. Either way I do not blame the seller in any way for it dying even though I know I did nothing to kill it either. They sometimes fail, and when they do they may or may not be repairable. But there is an out if you choose it to have them modded to mechanical by Rob.

It looks really clean. You do know that you bought a VV Grand - not a plain mechanical - and it's inherent limitations? That's a 15 watt limit version you have there.

Even for pristine VV Grand's - one that came with two sets of batteries and the other with three sets - the most I've paid for a used one has been $175.00 including shipping. :2c:

You are long overdue to get verified so you can gain access to the Classifieds on ECF. Even if you don't want to buy or sell you can always check in there to see what used equipment is selling for. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ember-explained-more-detail-faq-included.html

When I started thinking about getting a Reo, I tried to get verified and thought I did, filling out the necessary information. I think it had something to do with me using tapatalk and it's incompatibility??

Just curious are you saying I bought a lesser variable version? I don't remember seeing different variants of vv grands? I guess I didn't do my homework ....... Darn.

All the VV Grands were made the same as far as internals. So no, you did not buy a lesser VV Grand.

Specs:

15 watts maximum power output
Wheel adjustable voltage dial
Improved battery life 2 x 's avg. , we have a new controller that is MUCH more efficeint. avg. 12 hrs per charge
batteries (16340 or 18350 type)
3-3 to 5.5 volt adjustment
Reverse battery protection
Over current protection
Over temp. protection

There is no cut off circuit in the VV Grands. It will go till the batteries die. You need to pull the batteries before they die for optimal battery life.

http://www.reosmods.com/images/usermanuals/grand.pdf

Since these are no longer made some people ask top dollar when selling.

The first VV Grands were made with a side button that was recessed. The one you bought was either from later runs after the button change or the previous owner sent it in for a replacement to the new button.

There are some VV Grands that have run since produced without any problems. But then there are some that have needed replacement chips.

You do not have a warranty on your purchase. So if you do have problems you will need to pay for services.

Robert will also remove the VV parts and make your VV Grand a mechanical if you wish. That gives you the option of still using your VV Grand as a mechanical if you have problems in the future.

It looks like a brand new VV Grand. You might have paid a bit too much, but you will get a REO that will last either running as a VV or mechanical!

Welcome to Reoville!

Thanks brother or sister? I really appreciate the information! I'm extremely nervous about this purchase because I found him posting a sale for another vv grand copper vein on Reddit ..... He sold that, but mentioned that if it went to a person who could appreciate and really wants one that he could part with another vv grand which is the one I basically had to beg for.... jk.. So I ask him to call me. He gives me a laundry list of things he has to do etc,. But assures me that he's legit blah blah. Long story longer I paid him and he's supposed to be sending it Usps today......:GULP........ So this has kept me up all night to be commenting @4am :/

I just had Rob turn my VV into a mechanical/LP (can be used with a 18650 and a kick if desired), on the road so won't be able to try it out until i get home tomorrow but i am sure it will be great. I was terrible about keeping the batteries paired so was a big pain as a VV. Makes the VV a very versatile unit, might try to find a bigger bottle once i see how much room is there,

So Rob recommended the same to me but supposedly the vv grand is in like new condition why would I want to turn it into a mechanical without even seeing how it performs..... Was yours dead or what? Can you explain why you would need to Condition your battery(s) it takes an one 18650 right? Because I would have just bought a mechanical grand from REOSmods and have a warranty to boot..... I have been looking for this vv grand for at least a year! I also put myself in possible scam situation dealing with an unknown person from Reddit........I have hard hitting tube mechs and am kind of sick of them? So, I have a question aside from the fact that ppl are messing them up which is also confusing because it has battery protection right., over heat protection etc? Is the vv chip a dog or what, if so how ? I keep hearing turn it into a mech from Rob to others here on ecf ..... What's the problem with the vv chip..... Anyone?
I also heard notcigs doesn't make the chip anymore is anyone repairing them or upgrading the Chip set? I thought I saw notcigs offer the buzz pro vv regulator (?) on their site.....Is that what powers the vv grand?

Yiorgo, you did not get a bad deal. That VV looks like it literally has never been used. Which means you paid about $20 more than if you bought it new... if they were still available, which they aren't so prices are whatever people will buy them for. I know the Woodvil VV mods usually go for high prices because they were only produced for one run.

The buzz pro vv regulator works in the VV Reos very well until one day it doesn't. Sometimes the failure can be traced to multiple soakings of juice, or other abuses, but sometimes they are treated with kid gloves and still just die one day, but it's a roll of the dice. Others have been working every day for the last 3 years and they are still going strong.

The big deal about them is that Rob no longer wants anything to do with them. Compared to his mechanicals they caused many times more customer service nightmares by a huge order of magnitude, enough that he vows never to do another VV/VW device. He's planning on making a Grand that has room for a kick circuit, but you supply the kick, not him. So if you buy one and it breaks then there is basically no support. Not that Rob will leave people hanging, so he offers to convert it to a mechanical. Which turns it into a kinda tall & awkward Reo Grand, but you still can get plenty of use out of it. (That's why people have mentioned it, not that yours will have a problem, just if it ever did die on you and you couldn't get it repaired you at least could get it converted to a mechanical mod like the regular Reo)

If you have the skill and can get ahold of a replacement VV Chip if yours dies, then please post pictures. Lots of people would love to see it. I think the closest we've seen is someone taking a broken VV and adding a newer VV chip from some other manufacturer in the space where the old VV chip was. (don't remember the user, but it was probably Turbocad)

Chances are you will enjoy your VV Reo for many years to come as long as you don't repeatedly leak juice into the electronics or drop it too many times. I love mine. It's a completely different vape than the Regular or LP Reo models. Or at least it is to me.

Enjoy your new mod when it gets there. Here is a tip, start out with a coil about 2.2 ohms or so. It will allow you to use the full range of the VV adjustments. If you go with a 1.5 ohm coil then it's only going to fire when the VV it turned down all the way and the opposite with a 3.0 ohm coil, you have to use the top half of the adjuster. If you try and turn it down it will just stop firing. So low 2 ohms is a good middle ground and then start playing around with different voltage settings and different coil resistances until you find your perfect vape.

later,
Ken

Vapage has the 9 Mil bottles. As I understand it they are thinner and squonk easier too. I haven't heard of anyone saying they have broken one either. Whenever I get off my dead ayuss I'll order a few of them and refit a couple of Reos with them.

You have just motivated me to become verified on here I think I'm missing out on some great opportunities! I just heard from a friend that a rm(5) -is this right? is there a 5, I've heard of a 2 and 3) ) atty is for sale which I really want and can't buy because of my sheer or utter laziness!

If someone could send me a failed VV electronics unit (preferably not the whole mod) I would be more than happy to check it out and see if its feasible to repair it. I would like to see these VVG's continue to operate as originally planned, maybe I can help out with that.
I really don't want to jinx myself but I'll definitely send you mine IF it ever fails! I'm superstitious..... That was hard to say! Lol

You guys are truly awesome! I just recieved the tracking number and a pic of my VVG boxed up ..... And I was worried!?
OK I'm currently using a 75 watt Box mod with a .80ohm so I'm wondering what kind of vape I'm going to get off of the VVG? It doesn't have a voltage display but when I do the math I'm always at around 22 watts. Maybe Rob took this into consideration when offering to convert it into a mechanical......! I'll have to report back regarding your recommendation of running a 2.5ish ohm ..... After I find a bottom feeder. I'm currently looking for a RM2,3.
