Turn it open a lot, if you get some gurgling close it a bit to find the sweet spot. Make sure you haven't wrapped your coil around the wick too tight because that chokes juice flow and can lead to burnt taste

You can open it, put the juice back in your bottle and rebuild the coil. Most burnt taste problems come from people twisting their coils too tight. All you want is the coil around the wick, DO NOT WRAP IT TIGHT because it cuts off proper juice feed
Before you open it make sure to close your juice feed (mouthpiece closed) then open the top cap and empty your tank back into your juice bottle
A couple of cut pieces of bicycle inner tubes, or those rubber pads to open jars are very helpful with dis-assembly. 
If it is like Ithaka I believe you can turn it upside down, and unscrew the base. The rebuildable part should come out with the base leaving behind the mouthpiece inside the body and juice. And if you close the mouthpiece tip no juice will come out of anywhere.
maybe you can open it upside down as we do with Ithaka.
just close juice control turn it upside down,
open the 510 base while it's upside down.
keep MP in place,and the tank upside down,on a stable place.
then fix the wick coil what ever you need and close it.
I'm not sure it can be done on V2 (I'll get mine only later today)

for long time now I don't empty the tank for bulit of new setup,just
for cleaning once in a while,or change juice flavores.
It can be done on penny v2. I have been changing my wicks like this for over a week. Hold mp, cap and tank so they don't move while you unscrew the base.

I think you have to keep it simple for the new GG owners till they get the hang of things guys
.... There is a small secret here.
The mouthpiece air control must be fully open, otherwise the mouthpiece will suck the liquid.
Anyway... CaptSteve is right about new users.
Do you mean when opening or closing. Because I see the problem when closing.
Either we want to refill as usual or upside down, the tiny air control must be fully open or even removed... IMHO.

You know. I'll be honest. If I'm not mistaken, I've had a universal drip tip during all my upside down rewick sessions.
