I will never recommend a cig-a-like simply because I have not experienced one worth a vape. I will usually recommend something like an eGo stick-style pv. Easy, convenient, inexpensive and compact. It's the gateway vaporizer.
Yep, those "pimply twenty-somethings" are just terrible people! And why is it so surprising that a person who never smoked might want to vape? I (and apparently you) find it enjoyable; why wouldn't other people? And I'm assuming you at one time found it reasonable to smoke analogs, something that was known to be dangerous, while the risks of vaping are reasonably thought to be relatively harmless. Seems hypocritical to me...I would like to join in on your peeve if I may. I went into a relatively new vape store in my town which is run by two pimply twenty-somethings. They had a friend of theirs in the store with a huge mod and a sub-ohm set up with what must have had 100% VG in the topper. This rotund kid was lung inhaling and practically filling the store with vapor. After he had discharged enough vapor to satisfy whatever his goal was he told me he had never smoked ever, at all. So I would like to add a peeve of my own. Why do people who have never smoked want to take up vaping. Maybe I''m too old to understand a valid reason but in my part of the country you just can't fix stupid.
Let's watch the posting and quoting of drug references folks. As a reminder: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ation/255864-why-we-dont-allow-drug-talk.html
My pet peeve is when I come here to ask for help finding my ADV PV with 48mg MBV unsteeped joose and a BCC topper, and no one will help because someone has asked that question before.
I know it's in this house somewhere! It hits too hard, but the guy with cringeworthy fingernails at the site that I had to google to find after he didn't mention it in this thread because it's against forum rules told me that's because it's made of 100% conductive copper with solid 105% conductive silver connectors and no springs and he sold it to me because he thought I wanted to blow clouds.
All I needed was an eGo 650 and a couple of CE4s, which I've never owned one but I heard on the internet they're really crappy. Even though about a dozen peeps told me to go there, they were out of stock, but as I was giving them all my personal information before I even knew what the total was.
I got an email that said someone had answered my original question after all. When I came back here to read it, several Provarianati had insisted I would live past tomorrow only if I get "one of those" but I also had a bunch of raves for a Rio, from the denizens of Rionauts, y'know. But the 18yo fat kid and his pimply faced cronies at the local B&M told me I could only fill up a room with steam if I had a stacked 26650 mod with a 50ml dripper.
(I know they're just trying to upsell me to pay for their overhead.) Think I'll just go to FT so I can wait a month on some POS stuff that don't work and/or breaks in a week, but that would upset all the "buy American" folks that don't realize the e-cigarettes they smoke, and their shoes, iphone/pod/pad, truck, wife's car, the engagement ring they gave their girlfriend, and the frying pan they made breakfast in this morning is all made in Asia somewhere.
And dang it!... that 37 minute dark, grainy, blurry utoob vid I watched all of because I didn't hit the >> button, and which had only 5 minutes of "meat", lead me to believe I could blow fog with a $50 cig-a-like kit with one atty, one batt. and a crappy charger. Now I gotta go start another thread, even though I know the same question has been asked and answered, like, a thousand times.... y'know?
And some dang joose moocher friends just pulled up in the yard... if they can't buy their own joose, I wish they'd just go buy a pack of stinkies and leave my awesome, delicious, to-die-for joose alone... th' egg-suckers. And I don't sniff my wife's drip tips, but I do.......
Sorry, that was kinda like potato chips, once I got started, I just couldn't stop myself.
Finally got paid today and I'm actually in a playful mood for a change.
Think I'll get in my car and go tailgate someone while talking on the phone; only to be cut off mid-sentence multiple times by someone who called to ask me for my advice about something but won't shut up long enough to hear the answer. (my only two real life pet peeves)
My pet peev is the media getting it all wrong whenever e cigs are the topic. A recent article in my local paper said " e-cig's melt tobacco flavored oil's to produce the vapor. Some say is a safer alternative to smoking, while these claims are largely unproven."
Made me want to pull my hair out! Every article I have read to date has similar errors and misconceptions. Some is just complete B.S.! I really believe they are done intentionally. Why is it so hard to research and just print the facts?
Fixed.
Hmmm pet peeves well how about paragraphs?Doesn't that look better?

Why did you ever smoke your first cigarette? Why do people who have never smoked want to take up vaping. Maybe I''m too old to understand a valid reason but in my part of the country you just can't fix stupid.
I so love this lady. You've got moxy and more than a little brains.Oh no problem .. but let me clear in the fact that I have not set myself up as expert, and the information that I listed came directly from a Material IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard) % Conductivity chart, compliments of kp44.org. ;-) So the IACS doesn't quite agree with you.
" IACS is the abbreviation for International Annealed Copper Standard and the number preceding "IACS" is the percentage of conductivity a material has relative to copper, which is considered to be 100% conductive. This does not, of course, mean that copper has no resistance (is 100% conductive in an absolute sense), but rather that it is the standard by which other materials are measured. The higher the % IACS, the more conductive the material is. This standard is based on an annealed copper wire having a density of 8.89 g/cm3, 1 meter long, weighing 1 gram, with a resistance of 0.15328 ohms. This standard is assigned the value 100 at 20°C (68°F). Armed with this knowledge it is interesting to examine the IACS conductivity values of some common materials."
I don't usually speak out of my backside, and what I wrote in my comment was taken from published materials on this topic. Now, I am also familiar with metal resistivity and conductivity charts which DO NOT USE percentages with regard to metal conductivity, which is like chinese to anyone who isn't an electrical engineer ... here is the link to kp44.org for anyone interested.
My pet peeve is anyone who tries to "check you", without first crossing all of their T's, and dotting their I's.
Electrical Conductivity of Materials
We get it you're smart. I don't believe she was arguing any of those points.Fascinating. I apologise for talking out of my rear as far as knowledge of the IACS. I might disagree with your holding that IACS confuses fewer people than would ohm metres, but I'm a pedant at heart and the matter is arguable.
The fact remains that the correct value for Stainless Steel is 2.3%, not 7%. It is also the case that no mod is made of copper, only brass, and the conductivity of brass is only 23-28% (ibid).
And I stand by my calculation showing that making a mod out of stainless steel does not significantly impair it's resistance. Brass may be ten times as conductive, but the difference between 0.002 and 0.0002 ohms is negligible even in an ultra low-ohm build.
While IACS percentage is useful for comparison of wire sizes -- one needs to know that a wire made of aluminium needs to be a certain amount larger than a wire made of copper to handle the same load -- I don't see it is useful for any other tasks, such as evaluating different materials for making mods. One needs to know the absolute conductivity in order to determine whether the sizes required for mechanical strength will have any important effect on the total resistance. Using percentage conductivity simply adds complexity. You wont be comparing percentages directly, since a brass mod will likely have a thicker wall size than stainless steel for reasons of mechanical strength. And not taking that extra step creates a danger of being misled, for instance by condemning stainless steel for a task to which it is eminently suited.
It amazes me and I guess it is a pet peeve, when a lot, not all, of the forum members want the media to get everything right but continue to spout nonsense. Example" The vapor is only water vapor". IF you use any common sense, then you would know this is absolutely not true. Your lungs are amazing organs but they are not transforming PG, VG and nicotine into H2O. Another thing I see on here a lot is it is 100% harmless. What study are you referencing that has determined it is 100% harmless because I am sure that would be big news.My pet peev is the media getting it all wrong whenever e cigs are the topic. A recent article in my local paper said " e-cig's melt tobacco flavored oil's to produce the vapor. Some say is a safer alternative to smoking, while these claims are largely unproven."

Uhhm, NO! It ruins the entire JOKE!Fixed.

I dislike it when I order online and they want all my personal information, billing charges, before telling me their shipping charges and method. I will not do that. Lesson to all you store owners, you lost some sales.

It isn't just e-cigs, far from it. I've said elsewhere that out of all the stories I have seen or heard reported when I knew something about the subject they were reporting on, only two have been satisfactorily accurate. I am fairly sure that in the majority of cases it is down to sloppy research. There's a deadline and the "standard expert" isn't in, or is less than an expert, or they try to get the story from one of their previous contacts who has an agenda, or the google terms they use don't hit the right sites. In some cases of course, they have an agenda themselves, conscious or unconscious. And in others they are parroting a press release from an organisation with an agenda.
I think it is fair to estimate that every news report and documentary that we encounter is flawed to the same degree. We just don't know enough about the subject to realise it.
And look for the fnords.
Could be but I've had the same hair for 5 years and smoked analogs all that time and more and was never asked that.
My rant is against 18+ teens and youngsters chasing clouds.
99% of the fault is with sub-ohm vapers.
I have a beef with sub-ohmers. They're playing in a universe that is dangerous and seductive.
Do you know how many 18 year olds come in saying, "I just want to blow HUGE CLOUDS! That's all I want! I want whatever will let me do that!"
I just shake my head.
They're too young to realize no one cares about blowing clouds except the people who like blowing clouds. No one else gives a bleep how big your cloud is.
It's a juvenile mentality akin to seeing who's is bigger than who's.
