Anyone registered to vote in Illinois that has an Illinois-state-issued drivers license or ID, and could lawfully vote in Illinois would be qualified.

Those unqualified participating would risk invalidating the entire effort.
Very wise to say, should be said, just so no mistakes. TY

The way I escape the freakin' gauntlet of petitions in front of grocery stores is related. Their first [required] question is "Are you registered to vote?" If you answer "no", they'll offer to register you. So my safe answer is "yes, but not in this state" - boom, you're outta there. If it's federal-level, then I ask "can you give me the web address so I can research it later?" They either will and I walk away, or they don't have one and you know it's completely worthless effort. [Gosh - I almost need a flowchart here. It really is easier than it sounds...]

With all the corruption and crap going on in Illinois politics, this doesn't surprise me a bit. The state is behind on payments to nearly all it's vendors-and nearly $400 million behind in payments to its own state university (U of I) These ...... obviously have nothing better to do-ofc if they smell kickbacks in the water, that seems to get their attention, lol. I smell Big tobacco.........

I just read the article^, I think we all pretty much knew that U.S. tobacco and pill makers are spending tons to lobby-bribe lawmakers. :(

What would happen if Illinois bans PVs and 'any part' thereof, or whatever the article said? Would vapers from other states not be allowed to travel through Ill.? Would Ill. vapers be essentially ordered to throw away their stash? 8-o
Would shipments not be allowed to fly over Ill. airspace?

I'm back, and this is an excerpt from the article linked:

(full article link: OfficialWire: Illinois Senator Attacks E Cigarettes Causing Public Concern Because Of Pharmaceutical Funding )

"Illinois Senator Terry Link has introduced a bill that reads “Amends the Tobacco Accessories and Smoking Herbs Control Act. Provides that a product containing or delivering nicotine intended or expected for human consumption, or any part of such a product, that is not a tobacco product shall not be distributed or sold in the State or to consumers in the State ..."

..." Senate Committee Amendment No. 1 Provides that "tobacco product" is defined under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act rather than Illinois law. Deletes reference to "modified-risk product".

This would effectively ban the electronic cigarette...."

See? This is what scared me to asking all those questions.

Well The battle has been temporarily won.
BUT
It could rear it's ugly head again this year. I just got off the phone with my rep (Mark Beaubian), who says there is probable plans to re-introduce the bill this year. Last year in the senate it passed 49 to 7, and got shot down in the house.

Who sponsored this???
Terry Link

Now I'm going to"link" you to him....
