PG totally dehydrates me and has a serious impact on my energy levels, however there is always some PG in my mixes. I buy nicotine mixed in PG because I've heard about nicotine packets forming in VG as it doesn't mix too well, hopefully shaking fixes the problem but Id rather not take the risk. Flavourings are nearly always mixed in PG too, so my final mix tends to be about 80% VG.
Im of the opinion that the PG throat hit effect comes from how it dries your throat, so it may be fair to say just use as much PG as you need for a respectable throathit and fill the rest with VG for your plumes of vapour.
