I'm using 400 and I also didn't roll it with a hole in the center. It wicks fine vaping at a slight horizontal position. Once you vape vertical you can only get about 4-5 good drags and then it's dry. I'm wondering if 400 would wick better with the hole in the center, so when you're taking hits it's also pulling juice up. 400 certainly does not hold up to my chain vaping, but I can work with it until my 500 arrives.

I got the same result. If you roll a tight roll with 65mm with a small paper clip roll in the center, it'll perform better. But, many gennies won't wick forever on a vertical. Some claim to have done endless vaping on a pure vertical, but I can't and don't see how. I know capillary and wicking and all that, but I can't get it to go.

Have you tried 500 mesh yet or only 400? I can't wait to get mine after seeing the 15 second vertical burns. That stuff seems to wick a whole lot better.

I have tried 500. That's what I'm using. Yes. It wicks better. You can do closed, open, whatever and it'll wick better.

Excellent, that's what I've read.

Weird thing, my first use of the cobra I filled it with a needle tipped bottle perfectly fine and now when I try to refill it just comes out the fill hole. So now my cobras on standby while I wait until monday to get a syringe :/ I was really enjoying it too haha

If you were to roll a wider wick, but more of a center hole, you can cover the top of the wick hole with your finger as there is no room between the wick and wick hole.
Since I roll my wicks a tad smaller than the hole, I can't go that route. It seeps up with air displacement around the wick.

Another option that MAY work is to remove a second fill screw during fill to allow the air to escape. I haven't tried that one yet. Hmmm

When I am ready to figure out how to use mine, I'm going to have to get yankee to put all his tips and info into one neat PM so I don't have to read through this entire thread again!

That's my issue with many threads, especially those with thousands of pages. People be like, read the thread it's in there somewhere... I be like, uhhhhhhhh

Exactly! I was being naged at the houseofhybrids thread because i asked for the airhole size, and someone was like "search the thread" yeah right almost 9,000 pages and the least they talk about are Zen products!

LOL at some point if time allows I would love to compile an entire "How To" section that includes tips and tricks organized so it is easy to find exactly what you are looking for. But I have to find the time to learn how to use it first :p

Ill add that I just tried to pull one additional screw out to fill. Works like a charm. So with two screws out during fill, air displacement works fine and no backup from the wick.

Nice! I would give that a shot but my syringe will be here tomorrow morning :) Good to know though!

It's easy moo. And once you "get it", you'll realize jut how simple it is. But I guess I'll have to keep in mind to gather a few tips up.

Well. Just make sure you fill before you leave for work and don't stay longer than needed.
It's either carry a syringe, or carry a tool. Not sure which is better. One will definitely draw attention more than the other.

I'm home again, using some of the tips (mostly from yankeebobo)... I've got a new wick done (65mm 400 mesh) and some how i wrapped a 2.6 ohm coil... Vaping at 2.9 volts until I know it's broken in good... So far no problems this time around...

And Moo, I still have to thank you for putting up with this "Problem Child"...
