I should add that this is my first wick with no hole and 500 mesh. All my other wicks were 325 & 400 with a hole and they DID NOT wick.
Even burn on the coil (no hot spots), but still lacking flavor... On the second tank now...
For all that are lacking flavor, are your wicks closed tight or open hole. Some believe that flavor is more pronounced with open hole. I happen to agree many times, depending on juice, flavor is brought out this way.
I have a small paper clip hole in cobra. Large paper clip hole in ac9. Pretty tight in DIDs.
I had that happen to me the other day. I would go to dry burn and make sure everything was ok. I would notice the top leg to the positive post would light up but I figured that (as I've noticed other times) was gunk burning off there first because then they would all light up evenly. Would refill and still no taste. For me, during that time I think that was a hot leg and I don't know why but it would only act up when juice was in the wick. I ended up just recoiling and it is fine. I can't say this is what is happening to you, but for me starting over was easier.
Not sure if it would make a difference or not for those experiencing a lack of flavor. But did you guys boil your mesh to get rid of contaminants from the manufacturing process?

Yeah that's why I said I'm not 100% sure if it mattered as I boil all of my mesh and never had a flavor problem.
What is your oxidizing technique?
I've come to the conclusion that my center post is shorting against the body. There's silicone around the center post and we confirmed with a meter.
You pretty much do what I do, I still do the juice burn though.
It's frustrating me just as much as yourself as to why there is a lack of flavor.
Hopefully you can find a solution, if you do please post back and let us know. I hope I never run into that problem.
I'm still gradually making my way through that 500 mesh thread. If I see anything in there that might help I'll let you know.

You are using 28 gauge correct? Maybe on your next coil make it lower in ohms so you can get an optimal voltage without burning your juice. What's the ohms of your current coil? I have 28-32, but I'm currently using the 30. I haven't touched the 28 yet.
Yes, 28ga, 2.1 ohms, 4.5v.
Wow how many wraps is that? Must be around 10?
4.5v giving off a burnt taste? I'm thinking your coil and wick are fine. You just might need maybe try a lower ohm and adjust your voltage accordingly.
It's also very possible you might just need to give that 28 some break in time too.
