The Genesis is a bit more efficient at delivering the nic. Might need to step it down a few mg/ml.

As far as mesh goes...400 is great for all purposes and for the price.
Some will swear by other grades, but I wouldn't lie to you.

For wire...32awg is the standard used by most beginners. A 5/4 wrap will usually produce 1.8 ohms.
For 30awg, a 5/4 wrap will produce about 1.4ohms.
For 28awg, a 5/4 wrap will produce about 1.0 ohm.
See the pattern?

I really need to read ALL posts before replying.

Hmmm. I never thought about dropping down my nic level. I just figured that my coils were smoking or burning and I was vaping burnt coils since I can't see what's going on under the cap. I vape 18mg. I'll make up some 12mg and see how that works but it will be awhile before I know since it has to steep.

My other problem is I don't have a mod that will run anything under 1.7ohms except egos and I'm not going to put a genesis on an ego. I only use 1.7 ohms on my woodvils. I want to be able to use my AGA-T which I just got, on my vmax but they require higher ohms. I think 36ga would take fewer wraps to reach 3.0. I'm using 28ga with 7/8 wraps and only getting 2.3 ohms so I still can't use it on my vmax because it burns my juice. I tried a higher gauge yesterday with fewer wraps and got around 1.3 and the only thing I had to use it one that wouldn't make me cough or burn my juice was an ego. Screw that. Pic it. An AGA-T on an ego. Talk about top heavy.

Great vid AG, but you know your now stuck with us noobs right :p
I like noobs. I used to be one. ;)

Do you have a lower nic juice to try? The gennies will throw a harder thump.
I was just thinking the same thing! :)

Why? Positive reinforcement is good. :)

I'm gonna step aside and shut up now. Read away and THEN reply. :)
Ditto.

If you want 3.0ohm coils, then 34awg or 36awg are for you. I'm not sure how easy it is to get 36awg Kanthal though, and Nichrome in 36awg is a bastage to work with...POP! :)

I'm using 34ga with about 7 wraps and its coming in at 2.8 ohms... Maybe that will help you out some...

That 36 is thin as thin can be regardless, but I DEFINITELY agree. It's Nicrome counterpart is severely susceptible to popping easier than the kanthal sibling.

I have some 36ga that I use on my Penny because of the small space and got 3.7ohms on current setup and works great on my vmax. I thought I had some 34ga Kanthal but it's nichrome. I haven't played around with the nichrome much and don't remember what results I got. Why is it a bastage whatever the hell that is? Doesn't sound good.

Just had a NIC OD, trying just the wick and coil i brought along with me (using AG's video)...

Not feeling so hot at the moment...

Some times i wonder if i should be left unsupervised

 That happened to me yesterday playing with my new AGA-T. I don't know if it was the nic level or the oomf from this thing but it definitely wasn't good. Hmm, now that I think about it, yesterday I was using 30ga Kanthal and not coughing. Today I'm using 28ga Kanthal and can't take a vape without coughing. So maybe it is the wire...

AG, what's the real deal on Kanthal D? There is so much out there that I've never got a straight knowing on the subject.
Kanthal D is just a lower grade of Kanthal. It can be used.

The 36awg is just thin, so when it gets dry or hot quickly, it pops fast. It's no good for sorting out hotspots for this reason. That's why most people use Kanthal. The exception being for twisted wire coils. It really strengthens the Nichrome.

I remember my first nic sick. I ended up sliding open the window in the living room and puking into the flower bed.

Nichrome resistance is a little different than Kanthal so what would I get if I twisted 2 34ga nichrome together?

 happens to the best of us. I get that when testing new coil setups.

Yea, i was tweaking mine, vaping... pulling the juice out, checking the coil (adjusting), filling... vaping...

Then out of no where, like a kick in the gonads

Guess i just found out first hand, the Cobra bites...

It wasn't my first, but wow... I really don't miss that... :glare:

It is the wire, 28 seems to have more of a kick than the 30/32.
