Dear moorea,

I must admit that I am confused about the riddle, but I have had a hard time trying to figure out how to ask for clarification without giving away the first part of the equation--or maybe it's the answer: that's what I don't know.

Solving a riddle is answering a question. What makes it a riddle is often figuring out what the question actually is. In this case I was assuming that the question was of underlying motivation, but the pages and pages of hits I got upon googling all gave the answer as mere commonality. I did not email a guess because I could not figure out why he likes the things he likes, but every solution I found on the web said the answer to the riddle was merely what he likes about them.

So my question is: is the riddle asking why he likes mummies as in what is it that he likes about them, or why he likes what it is he likes about them? It is very hard to ask this question without giving away (at least part of) the answer, but I'm hoping you'll understand since you had a very similar problem trying to describe the contest without revealing the riddle...

:)

Your not confused, you have it figured out! I've just went back and read every post you posted tonight and it isn't dumb luck! You have known since your first post...

Ok, I understand. And my understanding is that I will never understand this riddle.

But might as well try again.

Mr. Kelly likes thinking but dislikes assumptions.

Nope, Mr Kelly likes assumptions and dislikes thinking!!

You'll get it and if not, the random drawing prize is just as good as the prize for figuring out the riddle.

I apologize. You were offline when I started my reply, but my wife got me tied up in sending her off to work. I did not mean to step on toes by possibly confusing the issue.

Heck your answer was better then mine, no need to apologize.

That being said... It is 6:00am in the morning here and I have to get some sleep.

Moorea and Mr Kelly like Sleep and dislike being tired.

I meant I am confused about the answer to be emailed. Are we looking for underlying psychology or just symptomatic expression?

:)

If we were looking for underlying psychology, we would come to the conclusion that Mr Kelly is a lunatic. That is over thinking things... The answer is just the simple obvious one.

Mr Kelly likes looney's but does not like lunatics!

Now I'm thinking I may have had it the first time! I may have been too quick to second guess myself :). The only question is whether or not I understood fully how to word the answer

Edit: and I probably wasn't first to answer it considering that I came late and it would appear that many had caught onto it well before I showed up lol

Man, this is killing me! All of Mr. Kellys likes and dislikes are so random and numerous, I cannot possibly think of a single term or word that could describe all of these things without it being extremely vague and non-descriptive. For all I know the answer is Mr. Kelly likes what he likes and dislikes what he dislikes because he is human. LOL. I just can't wait to see the answer, as that is the only way I will be able to comprehend this whole thing.

Anywho, my last attempt for the day to truly test how vague the answer is going to be. :danger:

Mr. Kelly likes amperage but dislikes voltage

Not quite that vague, he just has a bit of OCD and a very mild form of Asperger's Syndrome.

No, he doesn't like amperage or voltage, but he is very fond of wattage :)
