Heat Resistance
Good oxidation resistance in intermittent service to 870°C and in continuous service to 925°C. Continuous use of 316 in the 425-860°C range is not recommended if subsequent aqueous corrosion resistance is important. Grade 316L is more resistant to carbide precipitation and can be used in the above temperature range. Grade 316H has higher strength at elevated temperatures and is sometimes used for structural and pressure-containing applications at temperatures above about 500°C.

I use food grade cheesecloth and it works very well.So many different grades of SS.

I don't understand why they put such crappy factory coils in these things...it's only gonna turn away alot of people from it because they think what they taste from the factory setup is what it's always gonna taste like and that's not right at all.

Well I am not convinced that it is the coil, but as juice starts to run low I am sure all my english toffee will be vaped reguardless of how it tasts.

The phoenix I got was the new style with the slanted top, and I have been using it for dripping some other flavors I didn't like very much. Hypnotic mist is bearable, and my orange spice tasts like eating an orange (although the wife says it tasts like a rotten orange). I am sure the toffee is just a flavor issue. I saw a vid where it looks like I may have a big learning curve to get a good coil, and this is now my best tasting atty. I dont think I will use my stardusts any more, and I got some vivi rebuildable tanks to play with, but they dont give a flavor anything near the phoenix.

Maybe I will mod my vivi first and once I get it right I will do one for the phoenix, so I have something decent to vape on when I get frustrated that my roll is not working :)

What are you using as a wick Hydro?

Right now I am using the stock wick, I am gonna roll some SS and give it a try, Im just not sure I am ready to give up the flavor just yet (the phoenix is by far the best tasting option I have). This will be my first roll and coil so it is probably gonna be bad LOL.

Just watch YouTube videos and do what they do....you'll get it down pat before you know it. Even Grimm finally learnt how to make em :)

LOL well seeing his vid and all the others gives me hope, hope I can get around to it today, along with some diy juice. Im down to all the gross juices from my sampler packs, but that's for another thread.

I'll take some pics of my first roll, we can either all have a good laugh or we can all be amazed, :)

I just got one, but apparently its a second version. I got it from litecigusa I haven't really messed around with it yet, but as is I don't think I'm gonna like it. I plan on messing around with it, though.

Ya mine is the second version too, with the angled top. It looks nice and vapes pretty good, try it I am sure you will like it better than what you were using. I have been dripping mine and and am amazed at the difference from everything else I use (I bought some debridged attys for tasting, but this is way better.

I have used a fine thread tap to make a few 'perfect' coils, but I haven't tried them yet.
It makes for the proper spacing, but strains the old eyes.
Once finished, I just unscrewed the coil off.

I have decided that not this coming payday but next I shall invest in a simple lite magnifying glass to help. :)

Ok,

I did my first and second wrap. I used a SS steel wick and 34 ga wire. The first one blew on the maiden dry fire, the second one is vaping just fine. Even the gross juices I have are bearable. Only thing is, I didn't do it in my PHX (as stated earlier, my PHX is kicking ..., and I don't want to experiment till I have too).

Here are the pics as promised.

There will come a day when I had to take apart the PHX, but for now I will keep it for dripping, and the other one will be for long term convenience, like driving and work. When that day comes, I will post more pics for you all to see.
