I should also add that I'm on the prowl for a different red dot. As much as I like the Romeo Zero, you have to remove the entire sight from the slide in order to replace the battery. Then I have to re-zero the danged thing. I have a Romeo1 on my Masada and it's perfect. Will have to wait for another sale as I snagged the one for the Masada for a song and a dance. Right now, they're around $350. In a perfect (and far richer world) I'd love to put an Eotech on everything, but man..... When the sight is twice what you paid for the firearm, the wallet slams itself shut and defies you to put one in your shopping cart.

Aaaaaaand SIG finally put their Romeo-X Compacts on sale just after Christmas and I snagged one for the 365. No more removing the sight to replace the battery!

Nice! But is it compliant? Look at this **** Sig got stuck with.

Hellifiknow. I have a Romeo 5 Gen 2 on the AR. I haven't received a notification from SIG about it. Then again, there are no children in the house so I'm not really worried about it. I really have to wonder who got their panties all twisted up about this one.

Edited to add: I have to wonder if this is something that deals with the Airsoft crowd? A lot of them use scopes and sights that you'd normally see on an actual firearm.

Airsoft crowd? Doubt it. I think that some 'group' figured out how to hassle a gun manufacturer and got the lawyers involved.

Best reply I saw on another forum "Oh my God, my kid swallowed the battery from my sight. He ran around for an hour than dropped over on the floor. Problem solved, I gave him another battery".

That was my first thought, but man.... If that's the type of stuff we're going to see from the anti-2A maroons, it's gonna be a long year.

Ya know, I've been thinking a lot about this over the past week or so. This is probably the most moronic recall I've ever seen. Seriously now, if your small child gets a hold of your firearm (and it's gonna be a long gun, not a hand gun), opens the battery compartment and swallows the battery......

I have the Romeo 5 Gen II and a Juliet 3 on my setup.

The Romeo 5 is at the front and yes, it's the "recalled" model as it has a knurled cover and no printing on the cap. And no, I'm not sending it in for a "retrofit".

If your kid gets a hold of a setup like this, swallowing the battery would be the least of my concerns.

Edited to add: I do seem to recall, however, the battery was not provided in its original packaging and I think this is what got SIG in hot water. I think it came in a little baggie, which I was grateful for as those childproof packages for those batteries are a royal pain in the backside.

Tempting, but I think spray painting your firearm is even more hideous. And the thing that just blows my mind are the ones that do it, post the video to YouTube and are proud of themselves to have created a monstrosity that I'd be ashamed to own. In the case of this shotgun, I might grow to like the color, especially after repeating the price several times in my head.

Edited to add: This one might be a prime candidate for some new furniture. Namely Woox. They have some pretty neat things for your firearms. I'm seriously considering the kit for my Mossberg 88.

I was going to spend an hour at the range yesterday with it until they pulled it out of the box. Dayum! There is absolutely no way these things are going to rust during transit. This thing was swimming in oil. Take down is a lot different so I need to watch their videos on how to tear this thing down and give it a good cleaning. Then I'll go play on Monday.

Right? And it's having a detrimental effect on my wallet, too. I was asked don't you have enough ammo already? NOPE!

I'm approaching 18K ... if I don't need it to go 'bang' for one reason or another ... I figure it'll be good to barter for food if'n the apocalypse happens.
