Be careful of ticklish spots too, unlike CaSH, my calf was tough only because it tickled as did my stomach. It still hurt, but the movement was confusing because it tickled and hurt at the same time. Not sure how that works, but that's how it worked for me. LOL

Really ??? Odd ... I have never had a tickle sensation !!! Although, I could see how that could definitely be annoying !!! I don't think I will ever get a tattoo on the *front* of my body ... not sure why ... just have never really wanted to ... hmmm

I am a bit "lucky" I had spinal surgery at age 14 and I cant feel sharp/dull on my back like at all... maybe that will help.. :)

a blessing in disguise!!!! :) My lower back and the back of my neck both ... were ... horrible. My upper back neck made me twitch!!! LOL

Part of a Gustav Dore etching he did for Milton's "Paradise Lost" with angels beating down demons on my shoulder blade, grey and black scale.

Both my calves done in color. Custom art of my kids depicted in scenes and a style that makes it look like classic illustrations from a children's book (not portraits), with tons of little details symbolizing their personalities and favorite things worked into the scenes. I told my artist I wanted to capture the feeling of them still young and (relatively) innocent. After a lot of creative prep and an estimated 37 hours total in sessions, I love the final result.

At various times I have had tongue, nipple, nose, belly button, and a total of 8 ear piercings, but I usually only wear one pair of earrings nowadays, and everything but my nose piercing would take some serious work if I decided to try and reinsert jewelry, hehe.

DW, feeling pretty stupid, how did you get your image so large? It made me resize mine down. You can still click and get a bigger image, but I would like to see it larger (my husband hears that a lot.... LOL). Sorry couldn't resist.

But really, how did you upload such a large image?
I don't upload pics to the forum. I use a site called photobucket and when I post I put the url for the picture inside image tags that make it show up as a picture.

but NEVER put sensitive pictures on photobucket.

Annoying, good way to describe it.....along with twitching, think you hit it right on the head. Made me twitch more than tickle. Guy warned me about doing my stomach if I was ticklish, and I'm not that ticklish, but enough I guess. :)

Interesting Cheryl ... How long is it supposed to stay in effect? May be perfect for Jo ... Although, I may want her to *FULLY EXPERIENCE* what tattooing is all about ;) FEEEEELING THE BURN !!!!!

EMLA® (lidocaine 2.5% and prilocaine 2.5%) Cream

My ink is on my pelvic bone, and I've always heard the bones are the most sensitive areas in general.

Emla is a cream you apply before going and it's numbing lasts 40 minutes to an hour for most. It REALLY helps!

I have 13 holes in my ears, had my nipples and belly button pierced, but left them go. I have 4 tats. A dream catcher on my ankle with my daughters name and birth date, rose and heart on my chest that says love bites, a set of lips on my .... that says kiss this and marvin the martian on my back shoulder. Kind of a weird mix, I know, but that's me.

I am designing another tat I want and I'm thinking about getting my eyebrow pierced.

Yup ... Perfect reason NOT to get my stomach tattooed !!!! LOL

I wonder how it would look over a scar? I do have a scar running down my spine from neck to hips... hmm

Should actually come out quite nice Girlie ...

hmmm... Wouldn't help me BUT may help Jo! I'll think about it !!! Thanks for the offer Cheryl!

Girlie, they can do amazing things, many get them just to cover scars.

+1 ... If they can cover up an old tattoo, i'm sure they can easily cover up scars, and ink right through them! There may be a way to incorporate the scar as well, and make it a work of art!!! ya never know!!! :D (i'm proud of all my scars)

I was told by a tatooist that scar should not be tatooed. I do have a tatt that just nicks a scar on my inner forearm and the ink has spread out and looks terrible !

Oh and i have : old school tatts on my arms, inner forearms,,,tribal on my lower neck, large chinese dragon on my back / lower back.....and 1 piercing, a fantastic prince albert 8-o

Agreed, most tattoo artists wont touch scars. The skin doesn't take the ink well, and it runs after time.
