Ok Lewis - I'm glad you're keeping us updated on the new tools - I actually have a friend who's a dripper and he's been bugging me for a Lewis Gentry drip tip - every time he sees mine he's like, when are you going to get me one of those beauties lol - I have a bad habit of buying my friends drip tips that I know they'll love lol - my friend who I bought the waterfall one for absolutely loves it and swapped out her old one right away - so now I'm looking forward to you dripper drip tips so I can hopefully get him one too preferably in a baby blue and dark blue like the liquid sky lava acrylic - I'm also wondering if you'll be getting a batch of drip tips out before or after your trip to the mountains - I'm still looking forward to all my purple beauties and patiently (or impatiently lol) waiting for those - I'd love an eta on when to expect the next set of drip tips

That is really cool that you buy tips for your friends! Good to hear they are enjoying their tips.
The next batch will be after my trip. By now I was planning on having the lathe set up, beta tips finished and the batch started but the insert gods had other plans
Past few weeks I have just been getting the lathe as close to ready as I can. I got the drill bit holders made, insert holders installed, formatted computer, replaced mouse, soldered ristors in driver board, adjusted backlash, but mainly I have just been pacing back and forth.
After inserts appear it should take a week to set it up, make the new core and tip design for dripping. Then a small batch should take 2-3 weeks.

Well Lewis you sound like me impatiently waiting for the goods lol - please remember I'm not actually looking for a dripping type drip tip for myself - I still want my purples as 1 inch comfort with dual o ring - but I can't wait to see how your new dripping style drip tips! I've been letting all my friends know about your work and a few have also purchased - as long as you make them we'll keep buying lol

We had a great trip! The tempture was perfect, never to cold or hot. Every day the edge of thunder storms would pass over, but it only sprinkled once. Every time a storm would pass the fish would go into a feeding frenzy.

Friday before the trip the second order of inserts showed up. By the time I got home the first insert order had refunded my money with no explanation of why, but at least I got my money back.

Last week I set the X and Z zero for all the new tools and tested them. Today I was able to turn the tube wall to .010" The tube diameter is 4mm and I can get liquid out the bottom of the connector. The outside diameter is the same. I started to work on the new style for dripping and hope to finish it tomorrow or at least be close.

I changed the tools position to eliminate issues they were causing. I now have to edit the programming for the other styles, but in the end it will be worth it.

Sorry I didnt think to explain it, I just use it all the time.
The lathe tool post moves in two directions, X and Z, just like graph paper. Each tool needs to know where it is in relation to the tip, the X zero and Z zero. I had to set these for five tools within .001"

Good thing you know what you're doing because I don't. :p

Do you have a guesstimate on when the next batch will be ready?

Welcome back.

I'm writing to let you know how much I adore my very first Gentry tips (I finally showed up at the right time and place ). Abalone Lava is marvelous and the tiny comfort style is right up my ally.

I plan on making sure I read my notifications in time and keep a close eye on this thread when possible. I look forward to acquiring some more.

I'd sure like a Genie style, so this is my request for some in your next "batch" along with more comforts, either size. :)

After 16 hours I have most of the programming put back together. I still have to do a little more, then clean up the code so it is usable and readable.

Here are pictures of the first beta tip. Out of four drips two come out the bottom. If I gently tap the end of the battery tube on my hand the tube clears. As I don't drip I am left wondering if that is a bad thing or normal. At least I can get the liquid out of the connector now :)

I'm glad you had a fabulous vacation! I'm still waiting (patiently/impatiently) on the tips I requested lol - I can't wait for my 1 inch comfort drip tips with the dual o rings in the charoite, purple haze, and lilac lava - I'm hoping you'll be getting to those in this next batch - thanks for keeping us all in the loop

Will be at least 2 of them. Would you like them with the 4mm hole that is beveled or the old style? Either way the dimensions of the acrylic are the same except on the very end. I would also guess that the acrylic on the end is more fragile when dropped because it is not supported by the stainless.

Looks great to me. I wouldn't mind having one in stormy night lava, or about any other lovely color!
I got 4mm beta tip in stormy night on the list. Yes, I don't have a name for it yet. I was thinking of hollow form wood turning when I wrote it.
What material would you like the genie and comfort in? Would you like the comfort in 1inch? Would you like them with a 4mm hole or the old style?

I'd want the old style for the other tips as I'm not much of a dripper.

I really like the 1" comfort, but 1 1/4 would be nice, too.
I'd love a Genie in Abalone Lava
For the comfort, put be down for Wizard's Mist Lava

And, of course, the Stormy Night Lava in the new "hollow core for drippers" style.

I like hollow core, it is very fitting as most of the stainless has been turned away :)
Would you like 1" or 1.25" or both in the comfort? Got the Genie on the list. With the hollow core I am not positive it will work for direct dripping, but by the time I am turning that tip the beta testing should be finished.

Lewis I'm the same - I want the old style too - I'm not a dripper either - I want the old style in the 1 inch comfort with the dual o ring please Lewis - when you say 2 of them do you mean 2 total or 2 different types of material
Two types of material, ten total, well unless the lathe eats one. If there is time I will turn all three.
