It's been like that for a few days and I couldn't agree with you more. I wish I could be of more assistance but I don't have many of the answers to many of the questions:oops: But I'm trying my bestest. Sometimes all I can do is just give an encouraging word and sometimes that's exactly what is needed. I love the noobs, heck, I am a noob:w00t:

I had no idea there were that many reading over there. When I was a noob myself, I spent a lot of time over there just welcoming people. I still try to set aside time to do that but it often gets taken up answering more specific questions. If I could just figure out how to be less wordy I would have more time. I don't think I'll ever succeed in that though as being long-winded is a life-long habit. ;)

I just saw there are 498 viewers over there. It would be nice if those of you who can help answer questions would spend some time helping out a noob. Remember that we all started out at the beginning. I have never seen the new members forum have such a high number of visitors at 1 time.

Why are you making the assumption that more experienced members are not helping them out? I have seen plenty of activity of vets over there answering questions ... something I "used to do" as well, but I am done with the new members forum. Too many of them don't listen anyway. They ask for the advice, and recommendations, then many of them do what they want any way, and then come back later with the good ole help me thread.

Yes, I was a new vaper too once upon a time, and ECF is the forum where I received ALL of my how to, and what to do information, for which I am grateful, and joined this forum just so I could say thank you ... I got started, and advanced when I was ready without ever starting a single "tell me what to do, what to buy, how to fix my problem" thread ... not a single one in the entire 2 years I have been a member here.

All of the information is there, for anyone with the patience, discipline, and interest in helping themselves. I am so done thinking for people, and cautioning those who want it all now. And FYI, if the above does not apply to you, then I am not talking about you.

I was not insinuating that the vets don't help out but figured with the super high numbers of noobs over there the last few days I would give a shout out. You took the time to find everything yourself. I guess that makes you high and mighty. I get that. Good for you then. Some people don't have a clue and are so overwhelmed that they do need help. This is a forum that caters to noobs. Don't be a part of that if you wish not to. We all started somewhere. I am so happy your opinion is not the norm around here. I fear we wouldn't have near as many vapers if it was.

I've noticed those viewing has increased since this thread started. As for how many are "viewing," that doesn't tell how many are vets looking for threads they might help on actually.... for instance, I haven't bothered even opening sub-ohm ones until someone, gladly, started a thread with links to all the pertinent info. Now I do open them and just post a link to that thread. I guess it shows me viewing that board when I just skim it every day from "Whats New" but don't know for sure.

Since when does having the ability to read, comprehend, and execute make anyone "high and mighty" ? I don't consider myself high and mighty because I can read, and comprehend ... that just make me a functionally capable adult. Project much?

And you are right, those who are fully capable of thinking for themselves, following basic, and well written instruction appear to be slim in numbers these days.. This is an adult forum, not a day care center.

Could we tone down the personal stuff please? Good conversation/debate/exchange of opinions but I don't appreciate the name-calling. Its against forum rules for a reason. Be happy.... vape on!

Agreed ... whoever is incapable of articulating their thoughts, and feelings without name calling, should not participate in any discussion, much less lead the charge to help anyone.

Most newbies seem to want something that looks, feels and tastes like a cigarette. It gets a little frustrating when you tell them that there is much better available. I always like helping those that come back the second time to upgrade because their first choice is expensive and doesn't always work like they thought it would.

Truthfully since i have been in this forum i come in here at least once a day, and i just hit "new posts" and ya see all the posts made from every area in this forum. I do not hang out in any one particular forum, and it broadens my knowledge of what is going on in the vaping world. If I feel i can help i will. But i am not going to put my :2c: in when i am talking out of my :censored:. Unfortunately i see this often too much trolling just to post.

Although i have been doing this for a year now, I still feel like a noob in many areas of vaping.

There are many people that help the newcomers in this forum. But i have to agree with Nikkita that people have to read, and many of the newcomers are looking for that instant fix or answer. They do not want to take the time to listen & research. Sadly that is how many are now wanting instant gratification. Many newbies ask very simple questions that can be answered if they would just look and read. If it is that important to them then it takes time, it doesnt happen in a day...a week...a month...I took that time and continue to do every day...it is our lives at stake here isnt it!

just my :2c:

Challenge accepted. time to go shape some minds about the benefits of .1ohm coils made out of coat hangers :p

No nooooo, coat hanger wire is so 2013

12 gauge copper is where it's at in 2014 :rickroll:

(Sorry, couldn't resist. Oh, and don't try the copper or the coat hanger, I was just kidding.)
