That was me 5 years ago and I quit using am 801 cig-a-like.......

Just sayin

That was me 4 years ago. I tried to quit with every cigalike but continued to smoke. Then I tried with an ego and continued to smoke, then finally a Provari with a dripping atty. If all I could use was an ego with a carto or clearo I would still be smoking.

Just sayin...

If they are 1 pad or less I would point them towards clearo's. 2 pad they need something more powerful then a clearo can provide to make the switch easier. If I had my current setup VV with rda/rba in the beginning I would have quit the very first day instead of continuing to smoke 1pad the first year.

I started with a vivi nova and a twist...within five seconds of puffing on it I was hunting down a zen.... Flash forward a year and I walk into my local store looking for shiny things an some juice. I ask the person working the counter if they have any gennys, wanted another one . He gives me a line about not wanting people blowing their faces off and that they should start with a tank... At this point my Brass nzonic and Z atty u came out in its glory.... As we continued to talk he explained why they didn't recommend rbas for noobs, I agree but it still seems rude. My buddie went from a blu cig right to a RSST with not even a hiccup. I find that with ecigs it's good to be aware of everything out there, sample a few things and start where you are comfortable. I do not agree with people treating wrapping a coil like its heart surgery

agree look at all thats out there and start where YOU are comfie ... i would have been at home with a mechanical mod and an rba on my first day vaping !!!!

i have knowlage of batterys from life experiances other than this and knew quite a bit about them, i also knew quite a bit about electricity and engineering, i am a machinist by trade but currently work at a hardware store..... i should have got a mech and an rba right off the bat ! i would have not wasted hundreds of dollars on cig a likes and egos and vv mods from peoples recomondations !!!!

i personaly feel thAT cig a likes and egos are garbage lol but thats just my honest opinion lol

the point is there are a lot of people out there who are not dumb and know a lot about electricity and mechanics and would be right at home with a mech or a reo or a provari on day 1 so just because the majority of vapors stick to egos and small vv mods, and start out small and work up as they learn...does not mean that there are those who already know what they need to know to do this from the get go !

you can normaly spot those people though and make the recomandation as seen fit.

you dont offer up a mech and an rba to a young guy who comes on here asking why his cig a like stoped smoking and the flavor changed.... lol

you do offer this info however to a person who comes on here explaining that there home made 18650 flash light conversion and rebuilt protank is not cutting it any more and they are looking for something new !!

use your discression !

just because there a newb to the forum or vaping does not mean they are a newb to this life skill

Interesting 17 page read, I feel like i'm in an IT forum.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to vaping - i'm happily puffing away on my EVOD bcc e-cigarette and haven't touched an analog in 8 days now. Calling people stupid out in the open like this is uncool. Yeah, it's not too bright to start smoking, nor it it a good thing for me to smoke for 26 years.

I could throw a resume at you a mile long - IT for 22 years, plastics engineer by trade, electromechanical design, hydraulics, pneumatics, can rebuild engines, build my own house, the list goes on - but to quote a client of mine... "My network is like a car, don't need to understand how it works but when I turn the key, it better start and run".

If I had walked into the retail shop and been told that I need $500 worth of gear and been told about rebuilding, I probably would have walked back out again. Instead, I was explained that simple is better to start with, shown how to use it - and yes, the EVOD is easy, basically plug and play. 2 of my friends are now using them successfully and i'm working on more of them.

I really enjoy vaping, and wouldn't mind getting into the higher end gear, but right now I just want to get off the cigarettes - and the basic kit made that successful. It's not about the money, never was - and knowing that this kit works, I would have paid a heck of a lot more for that success.

Don't know how I missed this thread ... I AGREE!!! Too much, too soon, too much to learn, and understand in the beginning. I don't mind answering questions however, it really ...... me off when new vapers try to jump all in, only to end up drowning, and then start a gazillion "help me" threads. It is much easier to explain the "how to's" to someone who has yet to begin, as opposed to trying to figure out how to advise and help someone who has already gotten themselves into a bind... not to mention some can barely explain what the problem is because of the lack of knowledge and gear related terminology.

ECF has a wealth of information readily available, not to mention a ton of members that will point you in the right direction. Unfortunately, you will always have that small percentage of Darwin award candidates who just want to grab a device and show everyone in public that they can "blow clouds."

Nevermind the lectures, just tell me how to build a .02ohm coil that I can fire with double stack batteries so I can run down to the mall and fog everyone out... Yeah, sad, but true.

For the rest of us, just get off the analogs first and foremost, then you can see if this is something you want to turn into a hobby later on, or maybe not.
