Hi there.

It's been 3 days since I've smoked and I've been vaping instead. vaping 24mg liquid, probably as often as I'd smoke. Used to smoke 20 a day.

My sleep has been noticeably affected. It's been broken and this morning I've woken up at stupid o'clock. Did anyone else experience this and if so when can I expect a normal return to my sleep?

Between mood issues, poor sleep, weird dreams, and the constant want of a smoke, the first month was pretty rough for me. But, the first 2 are issues I always have, quitting just exacerbated the problems for a while. I found the quit smoking effects lasted about a month, but dropped off really quick after that.

I was the exact opposite. I slept very well off the bat. No more wheezing and hacking up a lung in the middle of the night. Sure, I wake up early (always have), but the sleep I'm getting is much more restful. Although, as I get older (I'm in my 50s), I do appreciate nap opportunities more and more. :D

Yeah. I had that, too.

Funny thing is, I smoked and vaped for several weeks as I made the transition. The sleeping problems didn't show up until I had finally put'em down and then all of the sudden, I was staring at a dark ceiling for 3-5 hours a night.

It does pass, and in fact you're more likely to wake up at dumb o'clock when it does. My wife no longer complains about my snoring and I haven't slept like this since I was a teenager.

Had the same issue when I first began vaping along with some pretty weird dreams. Vets suggested I lower my evening Nic level...problem solved. Try some 18 mg at night.

Ain't that the truth. Us older dudes need our rest. Even with college football on last night, I was still bodily compelled to hit the sack before 10:00 pm and still slept until 6:30. And, it doesn't matter what time I turn in, I absolutely will be wide awake by 6:30.

This article talks about sleeplessness and has some INCREDIBLY useful facts. You're sleeping issues probably stem from either quitting smoking or to much nicotine. It's normal for sleep rhythms to be disrupted after quitting smoking. It's also normal for people to overestimate how much nicotine they need to fill the void left from quitting analogs. I smoked over 1 1/2 pad and started at 24mg. Within a few days I got shaky and couldn't sleep for very long. After I stepped down, everything was fine.
