This is a good throw it together method and it does sound simple enough, but.......if people wish to make juice that compares to what they can buy, your method will leave them frustrated and unsatisfied. Anyone looking to start DIY, yes, now is the time to learn and stockpile nic. There are threads upon threads in the DIY section explaining how to get started and doing it right is really no more difficult than what you describe.

This is not that hard, and why some people get to me that writes sonething like this.

"I LOVE to vape but i don't want to learn to build.

Learn how to DIY juice

Don't want to stockpile "

But they are the first ones to raise a HEVdouble hockey sticks should their gear or Juice is pulled from the market.

Then i want to shake them.

Where were they when we asked them to join in advocacy?

We have known this was COMING almost two years, and they can't say tgey havent been warned.

You can lead a horse to water Two Bears....you know the rest. Why let it get to you, you did what you could, now let people lie in the bed they've made. I'll help anyone willing to help themselves.

I actually had a guy in my office ask if I would be his supplier when "real" juice couldn't be had or got too expensive. I told him to buy a bottle of nic and I would make his juice for him, but in no way was he getting his hands on my nic stash. He was actually offended and I was actually amused. He didn't want to store that dangerous stuff in his house.....I was tempted to buy him a pack of smokes! lol

Yep I know where your coming from. The ones that want nothing to do with DIY or learn how to build or maintain there hardware are going to be the first to complain and scream the loudest when supplies are short.

Mixing your own juice is like cooking the perfect steak. Sure, you can pay someone $30-40-50 bucks to do it for you, (More power to you). Or you can buy the thing for $5 and D.I.Y.!

This is where the Fed. Dill weed Aswipes are headed, they absolutely refuse to let anyone live cheap.

Not if one prepared its the cheapest way to go. The mods, RDAs or RTAs. DIY nic base, flavors, and wire is cheaper not than next year after inflation

But they have to be willing to pick up the tools first!

But I agree we all need to keep helping each other. Frustrations are just running very high right now. I can't even go over to the new members section now, I just feel too bad for them and I don't want to turn them off explaining my view of the vape world right now.

I will just sit back with my 3 gallons of PG 3 gallons of VG 5 ltrs of 100mg NIC and 300 or so flavorings and just take it all in:) And thats just what I've accumulated over the past 3 years.
I've got enough MODs, tanks and spare parts to last me a life time and within the next 2 years that will likely double. I'm not done stock piling just yet.

Many people use the excuse "i don't have the room for DIY " which i always thought was a poor excuse since everything i need fits inside a shoebox. Your mixing station is slightly larger than mine but as long as it works.

My VG and PG are under the sink.
My flavors are in two loxations. A 6x6 box holds a board with a hole to prevent my Juice from spilling, current flavors and syringes. My stockpile flavors are in a box stuck in the freezer. Away from heat and light. I am nic free. I still have about 120 ml. Its been in tge freezer since New year.

Sometines you need to dish out some tough love. Its time to either sink or swim.

Would this be a good thread to ask really basic DIY questions or would you recommend another thread for that? I know nothing about DIY. I am a relatively new vaper who barely understands the basics of vaping much less of DIY. It's all a bit overwhelming to me, but I would like to try and learn about it. Are there basic articles on DIY that are appropriate for newbies like me that you would recommend?

Thank you in advance.

I outgrew the shoebox the week after I started doing my own juice. Then I got one of those big plastic toolboxes, and everything *just* fit in there. Now that's overflowing into a cardboard box. And those are just the flavors. My nic is in the freezer, and my VG is in the basement. We have a very tiny house, so stuff has to be stashed all over around here. My dream is a bigger house with an extra bedroom that can be home to everything vaping related. Maybe someday... ;)

What are your questions? :)

Thanks Lannie!

It's kind of hard to know what the right questions are at this point. I would love to know where to go to figure out the basics. What are the best resources for me to read? Once I begin reading, I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions. I worry about being overwhelmed with too much info at one time. Is there a resource that keeps it simple like a DIY for Dummies book would?

Would it be wise to start out with the most basic stuff, and slowly advance to more complicated aspects of DIY? Should I first learn where to buy nicotine and vg/pg, how to add nicotine to a pg/vg base, then advance to adding one flavor, and so on and so on until I'm mixing more complicated recipes? I don't want to take up too much of anyone's time, so I am happy to read about this, and then come here for specific questions.

Same here.I started with one of those plastic shoebox's,and after 2 flavor orders it was overflowing,so i upgraded to the big plastic toolbox, and it kept all my flavors contained for about a year and a half, now it's busting at the seams, and the plastic shoebox has taken up overflow duty haha, although it's just about at capacity again,so i'll be exploring other options soon.
I have a spare bedroom that i want to make into my mixing room, the only problem is my extremely lazy son that won't make an effort to get his own place currently occupies said room, the day he finally does,it's full on mixing room haha.

What I did was read hundreds of posts. Figured it out in my head then ordered every piece of mixing equipment I could ever need. That's not a good strategy. Most of what I bought I never used. I have a large tub of unused mixing gear in the attic.

Here's some suggestions.

1. Like you said yourself, start simple.
2. There are some flavors that don't need mixing. You can make juice with a single flavor. Nude Nicotine are good for that. That's how I started out. So get some sample bottles of NN flavors as a starter.
3. I use small and large measuring cylinders for mixing nic and vg/pg, 20ml and 100ml sizes. I make bottles of 10mg nic base. Pick your own level.
4. I got 100mg strength nic. That can be a little intimidating. You could get 36mg or something to start out if you are nervous. Whatever, you will need to dilute it down to the level you want to vape at.
5. Use syringes for adding flavoring. Some 1ml and some 3ml sizes should be all you need to start out. Get the smallest needles, I think they are size 18.
6. You can take the nic base you made, put it in smaller bottles, and add some flavoring. That will reduce the nic level slightly. Mine will go down from 10mg to 9 or 8 after I add flavoring. Doesn't matter that much. Once you've made a few batches and got used to the process you can get fancy and make juice at a precise nic level. I'm just describing a simple method to get started.
7. Get a small tray for doing the work on, and keep a lot of paper towels handy. If you use high concentration nic, get some latex or nitrile gloves. Buy various sizes of bottles.

That's how I do it still, I'm not worried about being precise. Not saying it's the right way or the best way. If you scan the DIY section you'll find a bunch of different quick and easy methods. But it's hard to understand the different options until you've had your hands on the equipment and poured liquids and so forth. Once you've tried it everything you read will start to make sense. Then if you want to be an artiste you can go that way. You still have time to figure it all out before they take it away.

You could get NN flavors. Everything else you can get from Wizard Labs. Or multiple other places.

If you have more detailed questions you can ask here or anywhere in the DIY section. You'll get more answers than you can digest. Overall it's better to just start doing it than try to figure everything out first.

DIY is overwhelming at first and then becomes very simple once you figure out what you like. My wife and I mixed two months juice last night in under a half hour, including clean up. Find clone recipes of juice you know you like, order the flavors that make it up and the staples, (PG/VG/Nic)

Go to the DIY section and read, read , read, there is more info there than you could ever need. There are a few methods for measuring and mixing. See what makes the most sense to you and order those supplies as well. Once you've got the basics, DIY is so cheap.

This is how I started out, too, finding recipes and then shopping the flavors needed to make them. All in tiny bottles at first, of course, just in case I didn't like them. Then I reordered them in BIG bottles. ;) After a while, you can tell just by looking at the ingredients in a recipe whether you'll like it or not, or if it's even close to something you might like. Maybe you'd want to add a dash of menthol or mint, or a bit of custard, or whatever, but that's the beauty of doing it yourself - you can tailor each juice to what YOU like.

I haven't even tried most commercial juices. But I see people raving about such-and-such and how good it is, so I find a recipe and make it. Maybe I like it right off the bat (usually that's the case), and sometimes I think, "Hmm... that would be excellent with a bit of vanilla whipped cream added to it," and so I'll add some and see.

Just remember to keep detailed notes on what you make, so when you get one (or ten) that you like, you can make more. ;)
