Sennie,

Try to locate your coil in approximately this location:

Check out this thread for a tutorial that should get you on the right track :
RM2 / rba 2.0 / Reomizer 2 Rebuild Tutorial
RM2 / RBA 2.0 / Reomizer 2 Rebuild Tutorial

One pic is worth a thousand words! I realized my advice of where the coil should be was confusing, so thanks s-x-d for the pic.

yep, I've been playing all night, We tried 28g beading wire with cotton string and that was a nogo. Not sure if it's because of the type of wire ( hubs doesn't take direction well) or what but I have a spool of that if anyone wants it for anything. I also tried 32g wire with cotton ball and I thought that was too cool. I did 30g 10 coils over cotton ball and that was also too cool. So far my favorite is 30g, 6 coils with a cotton ball wick. And yes I believe I did a much better job of getting it right over the juice hole, in fact it's sitting right on the juice hole... lol
1 of my daughter's friends came over and wanted to know wth I was doing so I had to explain the whole RBA, coils and cotton. I think he wondered if it was something else. lol
Your coil shouldn't be sitting on the base of the ceramic cup . Lift it up so juice can flow under the wick . You will find you wont flood your atomizers as much

yeah I totally flooded the darn thing all day, plus it seemed to vaporlock a lot ( did I say that right?) It's back up off the ceramic again. Can't wait for the new coils and batteries to get here, when hubs tried the 28g beading wire it made both springs collapse so now I am working at trying to keep this working until they get here probably Monday. 1 thing about having to replace coils 3 times a day... I'm getting pretty decent at it!!!!! lol

yeah, he messed up my springs, the one on it AND the spare!! UGH!! And apparently beading wire is bad on springs...lol Last night I ordered 3 new springs, wire, some string stuff on there, and from the battery place 2 new batteries and a new charger because the last 1 started making a hissing noise and I was afraid it was going to blow up. So I bent the springs back out and I'm trying to make it last until the new ones get here. After that I am doing them myself, then if something goes wrong I only have myself to blame.
Beading wire has resistance? Is hubby removing the wire that goes through the post holes? If they go through the post holes then touch the cap of the rm2 you'll have a short and melt your springs. Coils with the worst juice should last for days. Wicks is another story.

I dont understand how beading wire would work. It shouldn't cause shorts but i dont think it would heat up either. Maybe someone else will chime in on this. In my mind kanthal wire has resistance so it produces heat. Regular wire (beading wire) i think has little resistance so it wouldn't heat up. Our houses would burn down, car burn up. Someone set me straight here.

yeah I am not sure why it would or wouldn't as I know NOTHING about this type of stuff. Until 7 months ago I didn't know what an ohm even was!! lol

Beading wire is not resistance wire, you made a dead short with that wire, thats why your springs collapsed.
If not for the safety of your spring collapsing you could have a battery melt down!
Don't use anything except kanthal A1 resistance wire or nichrome resistance wire!
You guyz are gonna have to get a multimeter so you can check your coils for "resistance" and your battery "voltage".
If you had a meter you would have seen the short and saved your springs.
Without a meter your never gonna know what resistance you have or ever be able to repeat it when you find something you like.
If you use the same little screwdriver you have and did the same number of wraps with the same wire as your first coil you had you would be close. You still need to check things not only to know what resistance you have but for safety reasons also.
Theres all kinds of tutorials and videos for using a multimeter, you guyz need to learn a little more about wire, resistance and voltage to be safe and to get the most enjoyment from your REO.

And before some poor little lamb gets hurt just for it's cotton!

Use kanthal wire. the gauge is not really important, because you can get the same result with 28,30,32 - all that changes is the number of wraps needed to make your coil. Most of these guys will go for 30 (but i'm different is all!).

This is what i do to hit 2.0 Ohms dead on consistently - forget about cotton and all that to start with - let's get something working to start with, that does not short on you.

Bit of silica for wick - i like 3mm doubled over, but anything you can wrap it on without feeling like you're herding cats. i use 32g wire. 4 wraps.
Done.

Fit it. like Super-x. There is nothing to thread thru anything. poke the coils so they look as even as you can get them - i use a safety pin, cos i have one!

It's silica, either measure the resistance now (one probe on each screw that you just screwed it into) else pray! i don't recommend this method much, after all - tell people that there's an invisible man that made the universe and they'll believe you..tell them it's wet paint and they have to touch it to be sure.

Pulse the coil. i mean hit the fire button for 2 seconds and let go and keep doing it a few times - this will set your coil, oxidise it, and burn any nasty machine oil off it (the ugh - that tastes foul for the first 2 vapes).

If they all glow evenly - job done. If one glows really bright and the rest don't - nudge that one with the safety pin - pulse coil.

Then throw some juice on it and laugh at your friends!

I ordered 30g wire, both types of silica, and 3 new springs. I looked at the tester but there are so many I don't understand what I am looking at, what I need, or what to do with it when I get it. I understand that I put 1 probe on each screw, that's the easy part but then what? I don't understand what all that stuff on the meter means!! I want to learn but like a preschooler until someone tells me what I am looking at, it's all just a different, unknown language to me. When you wrap around the silica do you have to cut the doubled part to make 2 strings or just leave it that way?

PS most of my friends are idiots who would rather continue to smoke than look strange vaping so it's whatever!:)

You need a Cartomizer/Atomizer Ohm Meter. They are out of stock at most places now. You just screw your RM2 on it and flip on the switch. It shows you the ohms. Easy as pie!
Atomizer and Cartomizer Resistance Meter

Please take care using your REO with the spring pulled back up. It will NOT collapse again if it shorts. You could end up with a melted button, or a battery explosion.

I am being extra careful right now until they come, no special tries, gentle vapes, nothing hot. I don't know what else to do other than that. I vape on my husbands a little but don't want to take his. I have my old Zmax but UGH!!!

Shorts usually occur the moment you push the button with a new coil. So, if you get past that then go ahead and vape like you own it! Hope the springs arrive quick!
