Here is one from me for this upcoming vote for the contest (Sort of a right of passage): If Whiskey and Tib are willing to leave the final vote on the conditions of the contest to the New Committee, so am I.
Atty you are doing a great job as spokesperson during the transition. Good luck to you all!!!
atty - this is just a little extra for those who hang with us. everybody gets into the monthly drawings and the year end grand prize drawings.
i believe j0ker said he had so many donations he might come up with some more categories himself.
If it's a plus-up, extra effort, prize, separate from GP, having it for only party/fireworks people is cool.
In that case in my ideal world I'd think you want it simple. Perhaps it's based on a mutually-agreed time equal to or later than actual turning, 30 day window. Permit up to one delay/postpone, outside world, requiring minimum 24 hours notice by the turner. That accommodates classic work/outside items that the turning person has at least some knowledge of. No exceptions other than that one "free" change. "Mutually agreed" for the time so that welcomers aren't stuck at 3 am. Turner must be there within 15 minutes of the agreed time.
(Basically, undefined exceptions don't work well for a contest. Allow one free no-fault change of time, if a person still can't make it that's life.)
The above is similar to what I see in recent posts, ,pretty much what I saw in the CES summary -- nice work![]()

under what we're currently discussing, and have all but adopted, he's not eligible for the contest either way- though we should congratulate him for becoming a veteran. (he does get a backstage pass to the vet's forum and if he can get to Ala, i can provide him with a retina scan)
30 day window. That basically unites it. Just go the next step... go all the way. Which is what I wanted all along. No timing crap.
when this part came in
I started to go zzzzzzzzzz, OMG, and meh.
"No warranties express or implied except where prohibited by law except when explicitly permitted by law, unless it's a Tuesday followed by a Wednesday, and the moon is blue but ......."
OK. I'm joking. But, it just starts to get complicated and "not fun".
for the record
yup - but that could be considered next year if those changes are desired
until then we table the motion for even further inclusions![]()
I agree, you are right![]()
(I over thought it)
OK, so.....
this is the basics of what we have unless there are strenuous objections from those who haven't had a chance to chime in yet.
what we want
1. welcome thread - entitles the prevet an entry in the monthly contests and the year end grand prize drawing. Eligible threads will started in the new vets forum prior to turning. The welcome thread request comes through PVT, in the form of 1 post minimum in PVT. Threads must be started prior to turning and cannot be self-started
2. Avatar parties: the welcome threads of those who schedule avatar parties in advance and attend them are eligible for entry into a bonus drawing at the end of the year. The party can be rescheduled from the forum default time without penalty. However, the new vet MUST be present at the time of their turning to be eligible for the bonus drawing.
(in practice this means that threads marked -- are eligible for the GP drawing, only ++ (orthreads are eligible for the bonus drawing)
(if joker can't add a bonus drawing, then a bonus entry into the GP drawing would be the second choice option).
Vote count:
Yes:
CES, Katya, Whiskey, TomCatt, Tibs, Atty (though he prefers the second choice option) (Tibs is voting Frans proxy so thats a Yes vote for Fran)
No: none so far
and now I'm really off to do the work that i actually get paid for![]()
Got it Morri
thanks!
