well, he marked the day in his calendar, lol - naturally, he won't know to start the thread early so we have a chance to post before the big day! - unless you told him?????

I liked CES suggestions for generating ideas.
If you're out of ideas, try:
Nature themes (Plants, scenes/scapes, seasons, areas of the globe, space...)
Era themes (e.g. old trains, 1500's ships, Renaissance Paintings...)
Mythology/Fantasy/Fiction... (Gnomes, Fairies, Trolls, Dragons, Star anything, Hobbits...)
Entertainment (A movie or movie era, particular movie star(s), Type of Music or a particular band/musician, games...).
Lifestyle (Food, Racing, Boating, Flying, Swimming, Sports or sport teams...)
Occupations, Memorials/tributes, Awareness/Causes, "Today in History" items for your day.

I like the two together, gives people lots of ways to think about it without making it a check list.
My only suggestion would be to say "other" fun ideas instead of "more" fun ideas...only because my weird twisted brain turned into meaning the second set of ideas was "more fun"

well, 99% of the work was done by tweety but i thought the contest should be mentioned even if just as an afterthought!
i have double and triplechecked vapian's turning date with nat. he definitely shows as turning on the 14th - 15th minus one day for leap year - in the pacific time zone. so, for accuracy's sake, he needs to be shown as turning on the 15th in the east even though it'll be a matter of only 25 minutes. classy shows him joining a few minutes before midnight and reaching his 365 days on the 14th but forum refresh will not occur until 00:25 on the 15th in the eastern time zone!
PMs notifying PreVets that they are approaching veteran status will not be sent out. Members must make it to the PreVet thread on their own, or with the help of a friend.

The more I read it, the less I like the "If you're out of ideas" part. May be just "Some examples:"
Is that a guarantee? IDK... there's some conditions I think. Or maybe that's just Grand Prize conditions. But they have to enter by linking their thread to the entry thread. AKA...not automatic. True?
