but with flexibility option still included if necessary? i don't want to feel that obligated anymore. it might work for most but still .....

the only flexibility I would allow would be the choice between the forum time (preset) or the time of their choice (like Atty had suggested and we had been doing sometimes). Like we did with Xaiver! (Well, sort of:facepalm:). But you know what I mean; I'm no drill sargeant. We can negotiate and try to be accomodating, but really within reason--they will have to actually turn in front of us to be eligible. Remember, this being a bonus takes a lot of pressure off of us--they already have a contest they can enter. Nobody's really hurting here, if you know what I mean...:)

But that's up for discussion... I'm easy. :D

That just shifts all the same problems to a different drawing. Now we can have complaints that "I qualified for one drawing but not the other. I was there....I was just on the way back from.... the hospital....and was a bit late....and and and...."

My head hurts. I'm going to go make breakfast.

"Bonus entry" not "bonus drawing"... unless we are doing two drawings. I'd rather have bonus entry, IMO.

I've been thinking about adding an extra drawing, Atty, but if J0ker says no, a bonus entry might also be an excellent solution! Hmmm... I really like it...

What do you all think? That would make everything even easier--but perhaps less attractive to the participants???

we're not gonna make everyone happy no matter what we do...i think the bonus drawing for avatar parties is the one least likely to provoke unanswerable complaints. It allows us to be inclusive for the GP drawing, and say "we enjoyed playing with you" to the people who took the time to show up for the title change.

what we want
1. welcome thread - entitles the prevet an entry in the monthly contests and the year –end grand prize drawing. Eligible threads will started in the new vets forum prior to turning. The welcome thread request comes through PVT, in the form of 1 post minimum in PVT. Threads must be started prior to turning and cannot be self-started

2. Avatar parties: the welcome threads of those who schedule avatar parties in advance and attend them are eligible for entry into a bonus drawing at the end of the year. The party can be rescheduled from the forum default time without penalty. However, the new vet MUST be present at the time of their turning to be eligible for the bonus drawing.
(in practice this means that threads marked – are eligible for the GP drawing, only ++ thread are eligible for the bonus drawing)

(if joker can't add a bonus drawing, then a bonus entry into the GP drawing would be the second choice option).

I still vote yes.

so this is what i think we're voting yes or no on.

(or, to meet the 10 char limit, heck yes Kat, that's a great idea!)

this incorporates the consensus so far.....

Minor correction--we'll be using smileys to mark the threads... ;)

I agree with Ces, we are not going to make everyone happy, we deal with those things on a case by case basis...lets simplify things and I think we are mostly on the same page here, we are spending way to much time OVER thinking things at this point, I think if we go with whats on the table now, that if things need a little more tweeking, that J0ker will be fine with another discussion period like this one if needed. We have some avi party's coming up soon and I think we should trial run these changes and see what happens.
