For the workman version, you might consider one looking like a nut. Obviously one a lot nicer than the pic but it would keep the ELA from rolling when someone puts it down and would go with the "work" look.

We actually did prototype a 4, 6 and 8 sided one, though they do roll still as we didn't run the grooves all the way to the end as it looked kind of funny, but we may sell some of those tubes separately. I'll take a picture of them and see which you like best.

I have not logged into ECF for quite awhile. However, I have been enjoying my ELA V1. Looks like I'll be ordering some upgrades for it.

I am wrestling with getting rid of my ELA or not. It was my first Mech mod and I really do love it but never really use it any more. What do y'all think? If so what are a typically used one going for? 350?200? I've seen such a wide variety of prices that I'm not really sure. Any advice would be appreciated!
I wouldn't! I didn't use mine for the longest time, been on dna, picked it back up and fell in love.
It's a hard mod to let go of. I had two, sold one realizing I'd never need another one. Right now they are going for about $230 on the classifieds. Unless you are going to sell it and donate the money to charity, is it worth it?
No way. That's like saying the current VW Beetle is an upgrade over a classic bug. Its got some more features but is it better or just different? I say its just different. The v2 is nice, very very nice. But its no v1. The Brooks B17 saddle, the Rollei camera, the Saleen 7, the David, the Mona Lisa and the ELA v1 - all things that were done right the first time.Upgrades for a ELA V1? That would be a ELA V2....

Wrong the ELA V2 is not just different, it is superior due to the new locking ring.... Ease of locking-more secure-better electrical connection. It is like comparing a drum brake setup to a disc brake, there no comparison in stopping power..

Well now see, that right there is one thing that could possibly be upgraded on the V1 - an upgraded locking ring.
I am sure David wants to keep V2 sales up, offering a improved locking ring for the V1 would kill some of the V2 sales...
