So what kind of number designates a battery which needs to be replaced?
Everything from 4V and upwards should be fine. Anything below that and you need to decide whether the battery lasts long enough to justify charging it. If your coil's resistance is low enough you might enjoy vaping even with 3.4V, but in that case I'm not sure how vapable a full battery would be on that same resistance. I just got a VV device and realized I was vaping on batteries which would charge only up until 3,7V, which would be satisfying to vape for only the first 20 puffs. That's just silly so I'm going to throw them away.

I would think if they do not fully charge to 4.2 volts its time to go......I have a pair of AW 18650 2000 mah IMR batteries that are 8 months old and they still are in tip top shape...charge to 4.2 and last a full day and a half......... I dont know if this is normal or its because of my PILA charger?

I've been thinking about the RBA that David plans to produce for his mods including the ELA and I think we have the wrong mindset about them. We want to put them in a category that already exists but I don't think that is what he is shooting for. Sounds to me like David is always innovating and re making the wheel so why would he stick with the conventional? I don't think the RBA's he will produce will be a silica dripper or a Genisis. The RBA's will be something completely new! Who knows what David has up his sleeve but I cant wait!

true, and Strata was conceived back when Genesis was hot, had some non geni concepts (David said its NOT a geni)and is subject to change... Genesis has been optimized to the max pretty much (and i have too many) and unless it is taken to a whole new level = more user friendly, there's no point in a new one.
Another Genisis would be like zzzzzz. Super-T doesn't do zzzzzz.
ie. my idea of a new Geni or Geni of the future, it would have a wick/coil element improvement/replacement factor that takes all the fussing over wick/coil issues and makes them a thing of the past.

Ukeman then you my friend may love the strata. Wicks that come with it, permanent but you can use silica or mesh if you choose to. He isn't divulging what type of material and of course that is smart on his behalf, so I dare not ask. Though he has stated it wasn't ceramic. All I can say, is I am stoked!

I just now have to figure out which size I want. 18500 or 18650, hmmm. Goodness then once I get that figured out then I will be debating over the finish. It is a good thing to have choices. I am also in for the universal as well! Oh yeah!

I'd buy a genesis made for ELA.

So would I, but I was hoping for something better than a genesis or a silica/nextel Rba. Permanent wicks? Sign me up! I bet he found porous metals that will work... I found a site that offers food/medical grade porous metals... and they make them in tubes... hmmm...

I think another alternative or idea to pursue would be the size of mods. I think the telescopic design has aided many customers individual needs but what about the batteries themselves?? Surely they could be made smaller in the future. Perhaps a winding charge or something along those lines. For now though the ELA will certainly be my prized mod, which leaves the appropriate RBA to be questioned. Wish any thought would be taken away by an ELA RBA on the way sooner rather than later.
