Final assembly, fit, and inspection at Super-T takes time. Individual care.

While, like some of you, I'm a little frustrated at the wait (after getting our hopes up it wouldn't be much longer) I'd rather wait a little longer knowing I'm getting a fully inspected, quality product delivered to my door. I'm sure it will be worth the wait!

Yes.
I remember David saying somewhere that he spent up to a couple HOURS on each P+ that went out the door. The ELA is more complex. Who knows?
Those of us who have bought Super-T know that month, year, whatever, who cares. It arrives perfect and pretty much stays that way.

147** here. I think the easiest way for me to wait is to forget I purchased it. It will come when it comes. I did get my hopes up thinking 75 were going out this weekend. He did say more to ship tomorrow. I much rather him take his time getting it right the first time instead of me getting it and having to send it back. I am good over here!

I think i could disassemble and reassemble one more than 36 times in one hour once i got the hang of it.

Sure, we could slap together 36 units in that time, but we don't slap units together here. I'm really sorry we aren't meeting your time criteria, but we are doing the best we can do and that is all we can do.

The following is all the steps i personally do after the parts are Polished and washed and ready for final assembly (i personally do all final testing and assembly and final detail work and maybe i shouldn't or won't in the future, but for now i do):

In that time could you also deburr the threads on 10 threaded surfaces per ELA? Could you deburr the button slide? Could you duburr the slide channel on the button? Could you deburr and hone the button shield were the button passes through? Could you deburr the locking mechanism? Could you inspect 15 parts per ELA for flaws or scratches in the polished components after they are polished and then repolish those that didn't meet your specs? Could you fit the orings into the tubes, adjustable draw caps, main tube? Could you flat sand on the belt sander the tops of the non adjustable cap, the adjustable draw cap and bottom "P" locking slide? Could you then assemble the button assembly with the ball detent and install the Rhodium bottom post? Could you test the fit of the screw together components to insure smooth threads after deburring? Could you fit an atomizer to each one, set up the initial post height, install a battery and test fire, test the locking mechanism, test that it doesn't fire when standing up and make any necessary adjustments? Could you test the adjustable draw cap and then bag it up with the necessary spare orings? After it is all assembled, fitted and finished and passed your testing then wipe down each unit with soft cloth to remove any fingerprints/grime, reinspect the wiped down surface for any flaws (refinish again any scratches, burrs etc you may have missed) retest ? Could you then bag each unit in its felt bag, and insure that the correct options and finishes were put on to the order call out and then hand it over to Kevin for packing in the box and shipping?

Rest assured not one of the 4 employees here is dragging their feet and we are doing everything we can to streamline the machining, polishing, fitting, finishing, assembly and testing.

I won't compromise quality for speed, i'm sorry, i know my analness is a damn drag, but it is what it is.

Sorry, get in line, Vego. Some of our 8 weeks has more than doubled, so if yours is met with batch 2 consider yourself lucky. But then again, all of us are well aware of what's going on step by step through the process, which makes the wait a little easier, and it's for a top notch product so it's well worth it. I do have to say though I'm a little sad the top accent ring lost the machining from the original prototype pics, now it's just a flat ring. Still, can't wait for mine to get here. Now, about that DNA... :)

Go to a place and have it laser etched, or brush finished to add some interest to the surface. I think clean is better with minimal surface lines in a mod that looks much bigger in pics than in the hand. My 350 poldiac looks huge in pics and in person is like 2.5 inches if that.

As far as the wait time and slower than promised times, well it is what it is unfortunately. I've been waiting since January going on 4 months, which to be fair is double the low end of the quoted time. This was long before I was a member to this site and I joined here (thankfully) due to being curious as to why the long wait. In my impatience I've purchased other mods (roller, poldiac, P10, and JM22) which shows how impatient I am lol. I think David would prefer to have these sent out a long time ago but he is already past quote and won't pressure himself now. After this experience and GG I can absolutely say this will be my last pre-order of anything. It's just too long. In the end, I know ill enjoy the ELA and learned a lesson about being impatient and waiting.. Doesn't work :).

If I hand you $200 for a small metal tube it had better be a good one.

I appreciate your attention to detail.

Thanks Snork. If we were making custom Knifes, with the same labor we put into each ELA, we'd be charging $2000.00 each. Trust me, i've considered switching industries :)

I'm amazed you have time for all that, plus answering emails, plus dealing with your regular non-ELA orders, plus deal with the stuff on this forum that demands your attention, and still have any time left over for a personal life. If I ever make it to Minnesota I'm buying you a beer.

The rest of us should just be patient and stop interrupting David if possible. The more petty, useless concerns like this that he has to address, the less time he has to apply his craft.

Speaking of.. What else are you doing with your machine aside from e-cig stuff? Do you take on other work?

He said before that yes machining has become a popular demand and that wait times are extremely high. This not only allows him to machine his own products but to also take on other work if needed.
