Funny today I was using ELA and noticed that it was not hitting as hard or a bit sporadic, checked batteries, checked all the contacts, thought maybe I was being paranoid. Took her apart, wiped everything down and kept wondering what was up?
So after I checked everything, thought , okay, I will try it without the KICk, it was working fine. Thought okay, it is about 8 months old. No biggie, have another coming. So took the kick out, put it under my lab quality lighted magnifying stand and saw the culprit.
The other day when I was fiddling around I had unscrewed the tank of my Odysseus and spilled juice down the whole top cap. I had taken all of the top cap pieces apart and washed it in hot water and rinsed all out, dried it real good with my DataVac and thought all was fine. I forgot to look at the Kick.
Today I looked at it under the magnifying glass and it was all slimy with juice. Now its just like new. I never thought to clean it except for the contacts once in awhile with alcohol. It had juice all on top of the Kick and around. I very carefully cleaned with q-tip and lightly filed with an ultra fine buffer for nails. Cleaned again to get any dust and blew it out. I swear its hitting just like day one.
I guess Im ultra pessimistic. I tend to get that one in a million item with an imperfection. I feel bad that I was accusing ELA of being uncooperative. It was all me.
