I will agree to disagree! I hate to be the guy quibbling over word definitions, but I don't agree with your use of the word "hobby". And please don't lump me in with any "kool-aid" discussion, or fanboys. He makes a PV I like, and seems to be an interesting, nice guy. No need to polarize it like that.
I also disagree that he makes it to collect. Where's the benefit to him? That's like saying David made the Shockwave a limited run to profit on - he doesn't see a dime extra when someone out there sells it for $500.
I don't think I'm going to sway you on this, because you seem convinced Pedro is trying to operate this as a business, and his whole goal is to make truckloads of cash so he can buy a ferrari. That's not always everyone's motivation for doing something. Your comment about him still having a day job because it's stable is evidence of this. From what I've read in the limited time I spend on his forum (I check in every other week or so), he works as a scientist, loves his job, and has no intentions of ever manufacturing PV's full time.
If he wanted to quit and do this full time and buy himself a sports car, I'm sure he could.
