hi guys i bought a "kick clone' in a co-op to use with my ELA. i tested it in a cheap mod and it doesnt fire.. so idk if its because of the mod or i got a dud...

do u guys recomend a kick by evolve or a crown? what the difference

That's a loaded question with Evolv Kick fans in this thread? Make sure it is making contact? EDIT:I do not have a clone so i am not sure if it has the same contact spring as the Kick, make sure it is making contact,if it does.

From what Ive read the Sig clone is different in width and height. THere is a thread somewhere and a list of devices it works in and the ones that it doesnt. Something to do with the diameter and it being either a tad longer or slimmer.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/apv-discussion/427570-kick-clone-aka-sigelei-k-show-tell.html

It works in Sig Mods.

i tried it in a #19 sig mod and logo.. maybe i'll wait to see if it'll work in the ELA..

but hey why not grab the real thing.. kick or crown hmm

Crown is more fiddly. Kick is easier to set. Crown is half the thickness of kick so you don't have to telescope as far. Kick has brass contacts that have to be polished weekly. Crown can do variable voltage if you prefer, and can go up to 12 watts that way. And I think the low voltage battery spent cutoff is lower on the crown so you don't have to change batteries as often. Ymmv. Kick customer service is stellar and warranty replacement has historically not been strictly bound to the warranty period, even in cases of user error. But don't count on that, as ultimately it has a 6 month warranty iirc.

I've found this with my crown:

* The included vapesafe fuse makes it misfire all the time. I've cleaned the contacts on it multiple times, nothing seems to help. If you don't use this fuse, it works much better.
* The variable wattage mode does not work with 3 ohm boge cartomizers. The vape is a lot weaker than using the same wattage on a 2ohm cartomizer.
* Variable voltage mode works much better with the 3 ohm cartomizers.

If I set the crown to 10 watts and use a 3 ohm cartomizer, the vape is cool and not that great. If I set it to 10 watts and use a 2 ohm cartomizer, it's burnt. I've emailed Artisan Vaping about this, and he had no help other than to say "make sure your contacts are clean". It was implied that it was my problem and not the Crown's, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Obviously my contacts are clean and making a good connection.

Edit: I'd like to say that I don't have this problem with the kick. The vape is virtually identical when using a 3ohm cartomizer or a 2ohm cartomizer, set to 8 watts.

I have killed 2 kicks. I love evolv's products but I don't like that kick. I don't like the click click click click to change a setting either for the crown.

I say get you a good rba and build it for the vape you like. :D

i have a couple rba's i like.. its just that whith a fresh battery its a whole different vape than when its a lil used down to about 4.0

how'd u kill ur kick?

I love Evolv products, but am not a kick fan.... Not very much pisses me off more than when I hit a fire button and it doesn't fire. Rebuildables are the ticket. I can wrap a perfect 0.7 coil for my RDA's , 1.1 ohm for my Kayfun, etc gives me what I want and I don't have to worry about the thing misfiring.

Now that my buddy has heat treating down I might have to let him have a go at one of my ELA's.
