Ya, trendy vogues are hard to understand. I know what I like, and it doesn't make me sad if it's not drooled over by thousands of sycophants. I still can't get over how much smoother the action of the firing button is than any other mech I've used. And the telescope lock of the ELA is just brilliant. Add the ease of maintenance, lifetime warranty and its unusual but attractive form, and all other mods just seem to be a dime a dozen to me. While I'm sure the Caravela is a fine mod, I wouldn't call it impressive. I think its popularity is more the result of wagon jumping than innovation.

Regarding the weight, it may be a little beefy but it feels more sturdy than bulky, if that makes sense. Even with battery and full tank it's still not much heavier than my cell phone.

You know... ELA was a little heavy at first, but after a few days/weeks, you just get used to it and its like it was never an issue.

Don't make me break out and say, "If a woman (anavidfan) can overcome the heft of this mod, than surely a man could too!"

Just sayin'....

It wasn't that found the size or weight objectionable by any means. Had the ELA been in my hands a week after I ordered it, odds are it would be my one and only mech mod (it's original intended purpose). As it turns out, I ended up w/ two fixed tube P+'s and had become used to them by the time the ELA showed up. The P+'s do everything I needed them to do so I, personally, didn't benefit from the added features of the ELA.

... I don't get the hoopla over the mod with the old spice logo! Never had one but a friend does and well..... NO THANKS!

I see a little logic in it though, some people find cigarette smoke, and cigars more so, quite offensive in odor.
"Old Spice has 75 years of experience helping guys improve their mansmells with deodorant, antiperspirant and fragrances"

... as soon as they come up with something that can turn a fart into a bouquet of roses I'll be a customer.

LOL, I ve just read the last few pages and it nice to see the loyalty that there is. This thread is what made me feel secure in my decision, the product is what drew me to it. When you have a brand specific thread or a group of people who have things like we have there tends to be that feeling that there just cant be anyone who doesnt need it or feel complete head over heals.

There are many reasons, and no one should feel guilty. Many fellow ELA people will come and go, and David will bring out more designs, heck even an ELA 2.0 with some improvement or more features. Hopefully if there is, the parts will be interchangeable so we can upgrade if we want.

Even if some trade/ sell theirs , no need to stay away. Thats what is so cool about this thread. THere are no "mod nazis" here that shun/ ban you if you dare use something other than........

The ELA is my first SuperT mod. I landed here after failing to score a chi you for like two months, maybe longer. I'd still pick one up if I had the chance, but I'm rather happy that it worked out this way. I'm almost always late to the game on mods, but now I'll have one that's basically a unicorn killer. It's rare, it's well built and I didn't have to do a stupid google doc list. it's win/win/win.

Sort of my story, chi you then caravela - but at the time I was unaware of the ELA and those were the two getting all the press. Glad those "stupid google doc lists" were being used for those as it takes time, discovered the ELA in the interim.
