Never EVER use UPS to ship to Canada. I tried it once and it was a total disaster. I ended up eating the cost,
PLUS the mod never made it. I got so tired of dealing with them I told UPS to consider the package abandoned and to give it to the Eskimos. Literally.

I shipped it UPS and @ that insane $$ amount because I wanted him to have it with the quickness... Little did we know that 'with the quickness' and UPS don't go together... Even if they say so when you are swiping your card..

International Express with USPS is fast (3 to 5 days generally) and it's much cheaper.. From me to him via USPS International Express would have been like $35..

I wanted him to have it faster than that so I went with UPS and spent the extra mooooola...

Enter a whole bunch of facepalm(s) cuz I got played like a piano..

On another side note: has anyone here ever changed their satin finish to more of a lightly brushed finish? Reason why I ask is because I am not so sure that I like yhe satin finish on the Titanium tube Raq gave me. I was thinking of trying to get it to a brushed finish., idk

Now that I've handled the ELA for a while, I can see why Dave made it his flagship design.

Unlike every other mod out there, I can't think of any way there can be a "Version Two" of this device. This is one well thought out mod.

Yeah, its not the best picture, but it is definitely not polished. When my 18500 gets here, I will post a pic for comparison.

There were blemished Ti tubes for sale awhile back, you could get polished or satin. That is one of the satin ones.

Whenever I'm receiving stuff from overseas I've found I get the best quickness from DHL. They're my favorite international shipper, with usps a close second. I'm not sure what sorcery DHL employs, but it seems like they have a fast lane through customs. I received my Eden Mods Rose from England shipped DHL in like 3 or 4 days.

How's this for a laugh..I traded some of my gear for an ELA with Raq and it was sent UPS on Saturday and cost him an arm & a leg. Worst case delivery was supposed to be Tuesday. They sent it from CA to KY to MN to SD and at some point they damaged the label, then customs wanted to peek inside, then it missed it's connection from Calgary, finally made it to Edm, then it was on a truck all day today, only to have the driver pull a BS move and say that "the business was closed". I will never use UPS again. Ever. At the end of the day though, as long as ELA is OK and safe in my hands tomorrow morning, all will be well. I just know I am going to love this baby.

Makes you wonder how a package can start in the West, end up in the east then goes back west don't it? /me shrugs

I sent (i meaning the shipping guys @ work) a laptop from Ottawa to Chicago using FedX Wednesday afternoon (3pm) and it was in Chicago the next morning 9am. Now, THAT is service! of course it helps when the paper work filled in properly but still.

But as you said, as long as it ends up in your hands and not in lala land i suppose its all good.

I remember the blem offering. Just forgot there was an option on finish.
