ELA #2 has landed. 223 days! I am just so happy happy happy happy happy!

I am still anxious about getting #3, but now that I have one as a backup, I feel so much better! :)

Thank you Super-T! :)

Well I knew it was a matter of time and old hands. My precious ELA. (Cause that's her name) finally hit the floor. :( when the LOUD crash happened I looked and really think she and the Phiniac tank were smiling at me
Carpet floor 4ft drop. Sounded like someone was tearing down the house.
I do love this mod.

They are all right, I hope?

Hello all, I just received my first ELA and I have a question. I bought it lightly used. I'm using an aw imr 18490 and there is a small gap when I put the battery in and lock it down. I can get rid of this gap by compressing the whole mod then it sticks. Is this a common problem? The inner tube will also slide out fairly easily even when it's locked down. What's this about? Thanks guys. image.jpg

I have no gap with AW IMR 18490's. With my Efest 18500's I do.

I'd like a consensus. Gap or no gap. Some people say yes others no. I'm hoping to be in the no camp. 18490 mode. Gaps yes or no. Ti

LOL I don't think you'll get a consensus. Batteries vary, sometimes you'll get a little gap sometimes you won't. It was better for me when I accepted it either way.

I don't have gaps unless I'm running an 18650....lol.

But seriously, no gaps for me in either 350 or 500 mode. The reason why I do not have any gaps is because all of my RBAs have adjustable center posts. I adjust the ELA center post to fit the battery. Once the gap is gone, I adjust the RBA center post so that the RBA sits flush on the top cap. If your RBA/RDA has a fixed center post, then it's gonna be a crapshoot. And as others have already said, there are always variances with battery length, even for batteries from the same maker.

Also, the ELA center post is a one piece design (as opposed to others that are a two piece design wherein both the height to the RBA and the height to the battery can be adjusted). Because of this, setting the center post height so that it is deeper in the 510 side means that it will protrude deeper into the battery side....hence the gap.

Well, as you have different configurations of batteries and atties, you'll find that since this is a telescopic mod, that you'll always have some differences with a gap (or not). You have to take in consideration for the battery's length and how far the 510 connection of your atomizer screws into the ELA top cap (you know when you adjust the pin?).

These factors will influence the gap's size. You'll learn soon enough that you just use ELA, and FORGETABOUT IT!! :)

Also the inner tube rotates fairly easily when it's locked down.

It varies from person to person, but mine will get "lose" if it gets dirty. Again it vaires, some have never cleaned theirs and no loosening. Mine gets really dirty and will lose its grip. I just soak it in hot soapy water, give it a good scrubbing, dry and go over with a alchohol soaked q-tip and still more black gunk comes from the locking ring, no more slipping.

Just in case, I was talking about the locking ring, I assumed that is what you meant ? :)

Is there supposed to be an o ring where the negative end of the battery rests?

Yes, there should be an o-ring at the bottom. I actually had no idea until mine fell out without me noticing. Had no idea what was going on when the ela was still firing when locked. I emailed super t and they mentioned the o-ring that rests at the bottom of the device. I bought a new one for a few cents at the local hardware store. Problem solved.
