There isn't much benefit of a dna 30 or 20 for the 10-15 watt single coil user at all.
The more watts = more Kanthal . The 30 will allow more power pushed to dual coils and micros, The DNA 40 will benefit triple micros, The DNA 50 will allow quads with no effort.
Many mechs will allow around 50 watts. The DNA mod is allowing VV mods to start benefiting by the allowing more watts.

I see much testosterone flowing and the new to vaping crowd pushing their limits.
There will be some - guarantee it, that will be running .5 or less sub ohm on 30w - I see that as potential meltdown and ridiculous unless one is aware, knows what the dangers are and practices safe vaping with a skill set to manage big watts. There are seasoned and informed vapers that will also appreciate the benefits.

I see battery makers loving this.

I see a new product I could market, a vaper's glove :)

So I'm sure I'm late the to discussion, but the flat bottom switch tends to be a little wonky. Don't take me wrong, I love the look and feel it gives the ELA. When locked, as if that was needed, it's hard to get it back unlocked.

Anyone?

Only way NASA would allow for trips to the Space Station - unlocking has to be premeditated and not trivial :) That's the nature of the beast, David has said it is fiddly but that you also don't need to lock it nearly as much as the flat bottom does prevent those kind of misfires.

A couple others have found the same thing you have. David did say it would be tricky to lock/unlock, but for those who wanted the flat look, at least they would not have to buy a non-super T item for their ELA. The Satburn utilizes the bottom contact with a sort flat disc button, works nice from what I hear, but is not as well made or looks as great.

Sort of a toss up. Really when you think about it, the way the Super T bottom wont fire easily accidentally, and if needed to store you can lock it or take the battery out.

Just my thoughts on the "buttons" I have the Super T bottom , love the looks the feel and build, not really as comfortable as the standard, but I at least have it for a change in looks should I want.

BTW, I did not mean to make it sound like the Satburn is not a good item, I dont have one so I cant honestly give an opinion on its quality or how it performs, I can only go by its looks and a couple others posts about the machining being good, but not superb.

I think you meant to say your Nitecore intellicharger has an over charge protection feature on it. That would make sense, many chargers have that safety built in. The "over drain" condition leading to a potentially dangerous situation makes no sense to me.

Some battery chargers have over drain protection but they generally aren't used in vaping. Some of the chargers I worked with would drain the battery to its lowest safe level and then turn off for a bit before turning back on to charge. The only thing "dangerous" that I know about it was that you could drain it to the point of rendering it useless and would no longer take a charge.

The pro far outweighs the con. I love the flat bottom. Nice and sturdy when standing up on flat surfaces.

I grabbed the Satburn button as well prior to scoring the ELA. I bought it thinking I was getting the ELA quickly. That fell through. Thankfully my want ad was successful; otherwise I would've have switches with no mod. I've yet to receive it, but I'm glad I have both.

Perhaps the danger is in trying to charge a battery that has been over-discharged? I'm no expert on the subject, of course, but it sounds plausible

I recommend cautious optimism, I'm #16275 and I ain't received nuttin' yet 8-o (no shipping notice)

I received two shipping notices. Waiting on ELAs, Stratas, Top Caps, and Ti 500s. So, I think it is ELA #2. My #(16184) is up! The other shipping notice, I am assuming, is the Top Caps. :)

I have had my ELA since July 3rd 2013 and it has been the best vape purchase I ever made!!!! The wait was so so worth it and I have not found anything with a better button. I am so happy I don't want any other mechs the ELA has ruined me and made me a customer for life. Now if I can just find a Shockwave for sale!!!!!!

Wanted to share an observation. I was having the hot button issue a while back, and discovered the atty was screwed down too tight. Backing it off fixed it, but if I screwed it down too tight again, the button would get hot again. Switching to the flat housing with the non-locking, brass button, completely fixed this. Too tight or not, no hot button. Whether this was fixed because of the non-locking button or the flat housing, I can't say.

So is it worse to drain the battery while use or to occasionally leave a battery on the charger for a few hours? Which one of these senarios shortens a batterys life? I use a Nitecore intellicharger and I "think" that it has an over drain protection feature on it.

Occasionally I fall asleep when charging, I try my best not to leave batteries un attended. IF I leave the room for what I think might keep me away for more than a few mins I just disconnect the charger. Sometimes because of bad insomnia I fall asleep for unplanned time watching TV.

I vape till my vapor production gets low. Usually at around 1.0 ohms. Is it really necessary to need an in-line voltage meter to keep our batteries from going lower than ? voltage?

Hey P!
I just posted this on the GP thread as the discussion came up. Seems the threads run parallel on topic most days :).

"Honestly Digi, the rule of thumb rests on your vaping style, battery care and battery type.
Example - I use IMR exclusively, average 10-12 watts each build - sometimes more sometimes less, I have 8-10 batteries of each size in rotation with new extras on hand, my smaller batteries last 5-6 months for 60+ cycles, my larger batteries a bit longer.
I also never run a battery under 3.6v before recharge...saves a ton of money(and good reason to kick).
Meter coils and batteries. I throw away batteries that still charge and operate if they do not charge to recommended 4.2 + or -.
If a battery gets hot from a stuck switch or such, it goes in the trash after a safe cool down. Some will put them in the refer to cool and reuse if they hold a charge . Not this guy.
I went through a phase with the old PAPS switch when I would forget to lock it due to head injury. I hated myself and Lighthound was sending me weekly reminders to buy batteries .

If your charger has overcharge protection you are fine to forget until you remember. A habit of replacing any batteries every 2-3 hours even if still above 3.6 is a great practice if possible and will extend the cycle #.
Batteries are rudimentary in our world and understanding ohms law, amps, volts etc.is undervalued."

Has anyone else noticed all of Cucco's purchases end in "S"?
Is there a bulk purchase discount I didn't know about? :)

In other news I finally got my flat button in after an extended visit through the USPS facilities. I don't think anyone has posted pictures of a satin so here's mine
