I warped my original compression band and my ELA was never the same. Yesterday I put in a new band and it feels good as new. It also seems to have resolved some random misfires I was having with the old one...
Now that I have enjoyed my ELA since Saturday, I am loving the flat bottom cap! And Riggs the Wonder Dog is happy too.
Got my center pin back today after sending it in to get fitted to the new top caps. Fits great! Also still works on my older top cap. Nice to have the ELA back in business. Thanks to Super T for a quick turn around.
Alright, so what did I do wrong? I finally decided to swap out my compression band and clean my knurled ring. While I was taking it out, it met with an unfortunate accident. Luckily, I have a pack of 5 spares. I put the first one in and it seems to be very loose. If I try to put the ribbed tube in, it doesn't slide through the compression band.
I just changed mine, first time, the other day. It should not be loose. She should have sprung out and pressed up against the walls of the knurled ring.
Seems Im having problems with my locking rings on both of my ELAs. Im very confused. When I use it in 18350 mode its tight as can be. Use it in 15490/500 slips and looses power and my button gets hot. Put my atty on the Simplicity great performance, no hot button. Put my atty on my old cheapo , Natural and hits hard as the Simplicity and no hot button.

I changed my ring, because it was starting to slip. When I did change her, I swear she performed better.
I changed my compression rings, it helps, but it starts to slip again. I notice the button is odd sometimes. Its like I need to wiggle it sort of back and forth. Maybe my springs are shot? I did notice that one looks longer than the other. Maybe Ive messed them up and need new ones?

Okay, switched out the springs and now it is better. I guess if the spring is compressed too short it affects it? I was having to press so hard that it was loosening up the locking ring? I might have to buy new springs. Springs are out of stock....... dang.
I have to ask, are the OEM springs anything special? Is there anywhere else to get some springs , I just want to be sure its the springs.

Nope, just found my old one that I had thought I messed up months ago when I sent it in. I had dropped it and it slipped under the bed and it had snagged on the carpet, thought I had messed it up. It turned out I had mess some things up on ELA when It fiired for 45min. It got sent back working perfect.
It is longer like the one that my ohter ELA has. I guess after some time it gets squished or compressed?
