I went and stretched the shorter spring and it seems to be working better. The button is just as smooth and making great contact now. Seems things are better.
Okay, switched out the springs and now it is better. I guess if the spring is compressed too short it affects it? I was having to press so hard that it was loosening up the locking ring? I might have to buy new springs. Springs are out of stock....... dang.
I have to ask, are the OEM springs anything special? Is there anywhere else to get some springs , I just want to be sure its the springs.
Well worth it Chorn. An ELA is just heads and shoulders above any device I've ever seen.
Springs will be in stock on thurs, I hope I get a chance to get some. I need at least 3 reg and want to get a couple HD.
My misfires problems is definitely button related and I suspect the springs because I will get no contact, turn the button a bit and wallah, works perfectly for a while till button turns. I thing the spring is either crooked or mishapen and somehow keeping the button from making contact . THen I have to press so hard that I loosen up my locking ring.
Darn, just saw the price, 6 each......
Hey anavidfan,
I do not think it is the spring causing this I have had this happen too.I took mine apart and noticed my battery negative end,the bottom button post is cutting into each battery I use and I think this is causing the mis firing sometimes. That post in the button has sharp edges and has cut a circular pattern into each battery I use.
Damn, I checked 5 times, figures, did some housework and missed them, *%IT. I guess HD are better than the messed up ones I have.
